A/N: Hi! This is the first chapter of my 5SOS camp counselor fanfic! I hope you guys like it and feedback is always amazing!:

Waking up this morning was easier then I had expected, normally when having to wake up at 5 am on a known day of summer kicks my ass, yet here I am. Standing in my bathroom, ruffling my bedhead hair and brushing my teeth. Who picks 5 to be the time to go somewhere an hour away? I'm being dragged into counseling at children's camp for little kids for the summer by my best friend, Cayden who swears it will be worth it.

Honestly, I think she only goes because of a certain counselor named Calum. From what she's told me about him he's a douche but she's completely smitten. She'll talk about him for hours and how much of a good kisser he is and what else he's good at with his mouth, and now I'm going to be stuck at a camp with them Joy.

After rinsing out my mouth I looked in the mirror and mentally groaned, hating how my hair was puffed up and frizzed frowning I stripped down and got in the shower, relaxing into the hot water. "Ray?" "Yes?"

I shut my eyes and listened to her open the door and come in, sitting down on the counter. It's a regular thing, we've been best friends for years so were completely comfortable with this kind of thing. "Are you excited?" I couldn't help but laugh at the excitement in her voice, I could hear her grinning. "Yeah, I mean I'm a excited as I can be to be forced to go to a camp with small kids and that counselor your obsessed with." "Shut up, I'm not obsessed!" She snapped back and breathed out, "I'm just.. I really like him.. He's not a douche Ray, you've got to give him a chance, please?"

I sighed and nodded even when I knew she couldn't see me. "Fine I'll be nice and everything but if he fucks you over or anything I'll kick his ass.." She laughed and snorted, "yeah, I'd like to see you kick his ass!" I laughed and shook my head. There's no way a five foot seven teenage girl could kick a teenage boy who's probably way taller. It's the thought, right?

After rinsing my hair and listening to Cayden continue to babble I got out and wrapped a towel around my body, stepping out of the bathroom and back to my room. "Can you please tell me again why you chose 5 for the time we get up a leave?" I questioned, walking to my dresser as she sat on my bed and laid back, scanning the ceiling of the various posters and pictures. "Because, well be the first ones there, which means we pick our cabin and age group we want."

I could hear her nodding against my blanket as I got dressed, nodding myself. "Can we at least stop for food on the way?" She laughed and sat up, rolling her eyes at the sight of my old beaten up red flannel and snorted "of course, you always want food." "Hey! Don't act like you don't either!" I laughed and slipped on my shoes, grabbing the bag I had packed and followed her to the car.

The drive up was relaxed, a mix of "The Hits" from 94' played through the car as we laughed, eat and talked. As we approached the camp more I found myself wanting to know more, "Hey Cayd? Is there anyone I should look out for at this place?" She laughed and nodded "In all honestly? No. Everyone is really relaxed and easy going.. But there is a certain curly hazel eyed counselor you should look out for.."

I furrowed my eyebrows and shifted, turning towards hers and wondered out loud, "Why? What's wrong with him?" She just laughed and shakes her head, ignoring my question. Frowning, knowing I'm not going to get a reply I got out of the car and grabbed my backpack and bag, following her to where she was off to, looking around at the almost empty camp, scrunching my face, "this place looks like crystal lake.." "Oh shut up, you think everything looks like a scary movie scene!"

She waved me off and I laughed, stopping to look at the giant map plaster on a old wooden small hut, reading across "Camp Wikata, Camp of the free!" Snorting at the overly dramatic statement, scanning down the board. "Are you laughing at the name or the fact it's covered in dirt and stickers?"

I jumped slightly, hearing the sudden thick Australian accent coming from behind me and turning around and glancing up at the 6ft something tanned muscular curly haired boy in front of me. "Are you okay?" He looked over my face, slightly confused and concurred and that's when I realized I was starring.

"Oh, yeah! Yeah, I'm fine!" I spoke just a bit to quickly and blushed when he chuckled. "Are you the new counselor this year?" He asked, smiling. I nodded and couldn't help but smile back, "yeah, I am.. My names Ray, I'm going to be with Cayden and which every group she picks.." He grinned and nodded, faintly smirking and he brushed a strained of hair out of my face.

"Yeah, yeah I know her.." He kept he fingers close to my face and trailed them down my jaw "come find me if you need anything.. See you around.." He winked and pulled away, walking off and before I could even blink I had my best friend at my side, fuming.

"What the hell was that?" I couldn't even register before she had pulled me away, towards a medium side cabin and pushed me down, crossing her arms over her chest. "You going to talk?" I went to open my mouth but the sound of giggling flooded the cabin, causing me to thank them, biting my lip and thinking about what had happened.

A/N: okay, so theres the first chapter! let me know what you think!
