Chapter 9

(Megan's outfit)

Megan Pov*

The next morning was full of excitement. is something happening I don't know about. I woke up and got dressed then headed out to the main camp.

"Hey Megan" Carl called I didn't even realize he was up. " hi Carl, I thought you where cripled" I joked. "ha ha very funny, I got better" he said "i see that" I smiled.

it's weird I forgot what it was like to talk to another kid my age. "are you gonna come to shooting practice" he asked "no I don't need to" I said " why"  he asked "um have you met my cousin I have been shooting since I was like 3" I laughed smacking him in the head.

i always liked hitting Carl because I was taller and I liked proving it and taunting him. "ok well I will see you later then" he said running away. a little while later most of the group left to practice shooting leaving fee of us behind me and Lori being one of them.

"Megan do you mind helping me for a little while" Lori called so I went over to help. I didn't have anything better to do with Lily being with the rest of the group and Daryl was off doing something so I started helping Lori hang up the laundry.

"so Megan how is your day so far"  Lori asked trying to make small talk "it's fine, I woke up got to smack Carl in the head and now I'm folding laundry" I said hanging up a shirt "haha we don't go beating up on him too hard he's still recovering" she joked.

"Lori you are nice" I said "I wish my mom was like you"I whisper. " oh ya what where your parents like you never talk about them I also had never seen them before all this happend" she asked and I got quiet.

how was I supposed to explain or bring up in casual conversation that your dad was an abusive drunk and your mom was a neglecting druggie. not wanting to talk about that I quickly changed the subject and asked random questions hoping Lori would leave it.

After a little while me and lori finished doing the laundry we went inside to make lunch for when everyone comes back. For some reason we made cupcakes so i guess thats cool.

A few minutes later glenn cones into the kitchen and sees the cupcakes " ooh cupcakes" he says excitedly going to grab one but lori smacked his hand away "not now dont touch them" she said.

Glenn reluctantly walked away. When lori wasnt looking i took one and ran outside to the porch. "Psst glenn" i whisper and he looks at me, so i throw him a cupcake and run back inside before lori notices im gone.

*1 Hour later*
Everyone came back from gun training and we had lunch and cupcakes. I wonder if this is what a family is supposed to be like. I got this feeling when i was with all these people its the same feeling i get when im with daryl merel ad lily but i cant describe it.

After we had lunch i took lily and went back to our camp where i found darly sleeping. "Daryl, daryl wake up" i said kicking his foot "ugh, hey kid what do ya want" he groaned "um what do you think wake up" i said leaving.

"Megan come pway with me" lily said so i went and played with her for a while. Eventually daryl woke up and watched us play.

A few hours later i was walking around the farm when i walked near shane and dale talking. This cant be good. " a little boy lived becausr of what went down that night, it thing you ought to show some gratitude" shane said.

"I wasnt there" dale started saying "no man you wernt" shane cut in "but i was the time you raised your gun on rick, you had him in your sight and you held him there" dale said

"Oh come on man" shane groaned "i know what kind of man you are" dale said. Then shae looked up and his face was pretty scary "you think id shoot rick that is my best friend thats the man that i love like hes my brother" she said "yo think thats the kind of man i am". "Thats right" dale said

"Well maby yu ought to think that through say im the kind of man who guns down his best friend, what you think id do to some guy i dont even like when he starts throwing accusations my way, hat you think"shane threatend tjen he noticed me standing there and started to walk towards me.

I tried to walk away but he grabbed me by the arm. "Hey kid" he said "let go of me" i growled. "Calm down i just wanna talk" he said " i didnt see anything, i didnt hear your conversation, i didnt hear you threaten dale. Like i said nothing" i growled trying to pull away finally getting free and i ran back to my camp.

I ran into my tent and stayed in there for the rest of the day.
