Chapter 1: Ninian and the Cotton Candy

A/N: I originally had X's fairy companion named Candy but looking back now at it now, I realized that the name was too basic and it's a stripper name lol. I wanted to go for something a little more exotic and chose 4 names to pick from which were Andromeda, Andromache, Rydia and Ninian. I originally planned to rename her either Andromeda, Andromache or Rydia but decided to go with Ninian instead, It's a simple name that's 6 letters and 3 syllables long. Also X secretly plays Fire Emblem don't @ me.

The sun was high in the afternoon sky over Apotos than it was in the morning, possibly that the two were walking(or in X's case running) for hours. X, who was juggling a few of the Feron Crystals with one hand was still confused about his sudden transformation from earlier.

"What do you think THAT was all about? The hair, and those arms, and... And look at the Feron Crystals."

"So, is this what you usually look like?"

"Yep this is the REAL me alright," the Blue Bomber replied as he sheepishly rubbed the back of his head before striking a pose, "Pretty cool huh?"

But to his surprise the girl wandered off to the cotton candy stand a few yards away from him and began drooling over the sweet treat. The vendor had just finished spinning a fresh batch of blue cotton candy before putting it on a stick when the little girl appeared and stared longingly at the snack.

"Looks good don't it?" He asked only to get a nod as reply. "That there Blue Raspberry Melon flavored cotton candy is the pride of the city! The whole world can come tumbling down, but they'll still line up for a taste!"

"Hey! What about your memories?" The Maverick Hunter tried to get his friend's attention then simply shrugged in the background, having been ignored. Apparently, that plan went out the window as X failed.

She marveled at the the spun sugar some more, "Blue Raspberry...melon... cotton caaaandy!"

The vendor laughed and teased the fairy a little before giving the treat to her. "Ha ha, you said it! Enjoy it, kiddo. Satisfaction guaranteed! If you don't love it, you get your money back!"

"HEY!" X called one last time but nothing happened. With a defeated sigh, he trudged over there and paid the vendor for the cotton candy, much to the fairy's delight. Sometime later the duo were walking in another part of town with their treats and seeing the sights.

"Mmmm-mm! Wow, this rasp-whatever stuff is great!"

"If you say so..." the blue armored android said as he walked again, "How about you give me a hand and help look for somebody who knows you, Ninian?"

Ninian stopped in midair, tilted her head and blinked at him in a confused manner, "Ninian?"

"Gotta call you something, don't I?" He replied. "What do you think?"

"Yeah!" Ninian agreed to the newly christened name. "Ninian... Ninian! I love it! Yummy!"

"Now what do we say we start asking around and see if anybody here knows you?" X asked as he gave his cotton candy to the fairy girl since she finished hers off and probably wanted more, not to mention that he didn't feel like eating his and it might gum up his systems.

"Okay!" was all he got as a reply.

So X and Ninian went around asking the townspeople if they knew Ninian and replies were either "Nope, never seen her around here before," to "Doesn't ring any bells" and such. The duo even received a few gifts from the villagers and after a few hours of asking around, neither fairy nor robot could find anyone who recognized her. It was dusk when they had looped back to the cotton candy stand.
