Screw It. Bunny thought as she threw tennis balls at a small red bin. Most of the time she missed but other times she was so close. The ball would go into the bin and then hop right out. Bunny threw one last ball at the bin. She missed. Screw this game. Screw the sleazy man running the game. Screw this carnival. She looked up at the small rabbit plush she was trying so desperately to win. And most of all, screw you.
Bunny walked away from the booth and sat down on a near by bench. All she wanted was to win that stupid plushie. And no matter how many times she tried, she horribly failed. Bunny knew that it was very cliché to spend thirty dollars trying to win a plush that probably only costed five dollars. But she didn't care. It was point.
The point that she had won it. The point that she loved carnivals. The point that she loved Ever After's carnivals more than the ones at home.
In Wonderland carnivals were much different. In fact, they weren't really carnivals. The local tea shop owners would set up and sample their teas. The whole area was filled with the smell of tea. It was so bad it burned Bunny's nostrils. It was the one day a year that Bunny hated tea. There was a big crochet championship and Jub Jub bird races. And that was about it. There really wasn't much to do.
But here, there was so many different thing to experience. The air smelled sweet like cotton candy. There were rows and rows of games to play. Different foods to eat. Bunny loved it all. Usually Bunny thought Wonderland was always better than Ever After, but not when it came to the carnival.
Bunny continued to sit on the bench, looking for her friends. They had given up on winning the prize long before Bunny did. They went to do other things. Which meant that now Bunny was alone. I'm pathetic. Sitting in the middle of a carnival all alone. She thought.
Bunny picked up her phone and tried to text Maddie. Her phone read back, 'No Signal'. Great, she rolled her eyes. Right before she could lash out in a fit of anger, someone sat next to her.
"Hey Bunny." She heard the familiar voice say. Red immediately coated her face. "H-hi Alistair."
Alistair was eating a piece of cotton candy. "So what have you been up to?" He asked in-between chewing.
"Oh, you know, just enjoying the carnival."
He nodded and they stayed in silence for awhile.
"If I'm being honest, I was trying to win that prize." She pointed at the rabbit plush hanging on the booth. "I've been trying and failing." She smiled at him. "It's sad right?" She chuckled. He raised his eyebrow. "I have an idea." He simply replied. He grabbed her hand and pulled her off the bench and toward the game
He pulled his wallet out and put the money on the counter. The man took and in return gave Alistair three tennis balls. Alister smirked at the man, "I only need one." He said. The man rolled his eyes and took two of the balls back.
Alistair stared at the bin. His mind working out the calculations. He was the riddle master after all. Once he had his mind set, he carefully tossed the ball. The ball landed perfectly in the bin. It didn't bounce out like all the times Bunny had tried. It just sat there, nice and still in the bin.
Alistair smiled at his accomplishment. Bunny looked up at him in awe. Alister requested the rabbit plushie. The man got it down and tossed it at Alister. Alistair then gave it to Bunny.
"Here, this is for you." He smiled at her.
Bunny blushed so hard she looked like a tomato. "T-hank you Alistair!" She hugged the plushie to her chest.
The two walked on to enjoyed the rest of the carnival. As they walked Bunny felt something slip into her hand. It was Alistair's hand. She smiled at the feeling of holding hands with her crush.
Bunny instantly forget the irritation she felt before. Carnivals really were the best. She thought.
Author's Note:
Short and sweet bunnistair fluff. I was recently at a carnival type thing, so this was greatly inspired by that. I was wondering what y'all thought of me making a index/guide for the beginning of this book? I'll list all of the one shots and a short description. Would that make it easier for you guys? Is it something you might like? Let me know!
