Let's just start out by saying that you need a story description!

When I am adventuring around WattPad & there is a story that catches my eye, I click on it, and BAM. It has no description. Guess what I do? I exit, and search for another book.

Why do I do this, you ask? Because there is no point in reading the story if I have no I idea what I am reading.

Random Example:

The book's title is, "That Girl." Most likely, it's going to be a love story just assuming from the title. The book's cover is a boy who looks mesmerized. There is no description. So I have an idea that the book will most likely be a love story told from a boy's point of view. Sadly, I don't really have any idea what the book is actually about.

Do you get what I'm saying now? I don't want to be confused about what is going on in the story.

Moral: Write a description!

Thus leads me to the next topic on story descriptions. You need a very appealing story description.

What I mean by, "appealing" is that it needs to have vivid words, but still gets the point across without it being three or more paragraphs long.

A description is basically the readers' first impression on your book. You want them to like your description so much to the point where they want to keep reading, right? You want them to be saying in their heads things like, "This is a really good concept/writer. I would love to keep reading so I can have my mind blown chapter after chapter!"

To help with using descriptive words, here is a very good website to help:

www.Thesaurus.com

This website shows you other words that you can use instead of boring words. Like if you want to say, "big," you just type it in the search engine, and ba-bang! There are tons synonyms to your word. As in, large, huge, gigantic, and much more!

I hope this chapter helped! Stay tuned for more, love you all!
