Every Single Day

T Z U Y U

I quickly bought five long long-stemmed roses and something even more special. But for now, I'll give her these first.

After I got out of the flower shop, I saw her standing in the middle of the airport. She looked like she was about to cry, so I immediately approached her from the back. I hugged her tight..

And at that moment, I didn't want to let go.

She immediately turned around to see me.

"Tzuyu-yah!" she said teary-eyed. "Where did you go?! You scared me!"

"I wanted to give you something.." I said while still looking at her eyes and handing her the five roses. "First, a present."

"A present?" She asked as she happily received it. "What does these five roses mean?"

"I'll tell you later," I smiled before pulling her somewhere.

"W-Where are we going Tzuyu-yah?" She excitedly asked even though she has no idea where we're going.

She's so cute..

After a few minutes, I stopped in front of a mini arcade. I saw this earlier while I was walking around, and I thought that maybe we can have more fun together.. while I'm still here.

I bought some tokens then we played all sorts of games. I seriously had no idea that she was so bad at it though! Haha. I won everything, but since she's cute, I'll have to give that some credits.

She even fell down on the floor while trying to catch a ball. I was dead worried about her, but since she's such a positive and easy-going person, I felt at ease. Her personality is very likeable.. and honestly, it's not that hard to fall in love with her.

I felt hungry after that so we decided to eat on the first fast food chain that we saw, then my phone suddenly started ringing.

Toot toot!

"Yes?"

"Tzuyu, where are you? We need to leave in 30 minutes."

"Yeah, I'll be there."

"What are you doing right now?"

"I'm just eating somewhere.."

"Meet us at the terminal gate. I'll hang up now."

"What is it?" Sana Unnie worriedly asked after I put my phone down.

"It's my parents, Unnie.. I think I need to go soon."

It's happening.. The truth that I've been too scared to face.

"H-Huh? Right now?"

"Apparently, it's something that I can't change within a few hours."

After a few moments, I went out of the fast food chain while she just quietly followed behind me.

I took a deep breath before looking at her. "I have something to tell you before I go.. Sana Unnie."

"W-Wait, Tzuyu! Go where? I-I'll be able to see you tomorrow, right?" she desperately asked me. "I changed my number when I went to Japan, so I don't have my past contacts either."

She immediately took out her cell phone and tried to hand it over to me. "Here! I wanted to ask for your number in a much cooler way, but it already looks like you're in a hurry and I don't want to lose the opportunity to be with you again, so please--"

I didn't let her finish, because I knew better that I could no longer stop myself.

"S-Sana Unnie," I quickly pulled her in for a tight hug as I felt my heart shattering into pieces. "I-I'm sorry.."

I'm sorry for choosing to be with you, I'm sorry for loving you at the wrong time.

"W-Why? What's going on?!"

But to my surprise, my Mom was already standing a few steps away from us.

"Tzuyu!" she called.

I immediately pulled away from Sana Unnie out of nervousness. "I-I need to go, I'm sorry.." I bowed at her and decided to leave, but she suddenly grabbed my hand.

My Mom was giving me a confused look and I didn't want to be questioned and explain everything to her right now because it's already too painful for me.

I was so scared that tears started coming out of my eyes. It felt like I did something that I shouldn't have. "U-Unnie," I looked at her. "Please just let go."

"W-Why would I?" She confusedly asked.

But before I could even answer, my Mom started speaking again. "Tzuyu hurry up! We'll be late in our flight! You know the whole plane won't wait for us!"

This is all my fault.

"Tzuyu-yah, w-what does this mean?" she started tearing up. "I thought you just arrived too.. from the overseas. W-Was I mistaken?"

I can't stand seeing her like this, it's breaking me inside.. but I have to tell her everything now.

I cupped her face as tears continuously fell down on my cheeks. And I never thought that I could be much weaker. "I have to leave for Taiwan today. T-This is why I'm here.. at the airport."

"T-Then is she your Mom?" she asked while trying so hard to keep her composure.

I nodded as I slowly took my hands off her. "To be with you is something that I'll never forget, Sana Unnie."

And just when she started crying, my Mom had finally approached us.

"A-Are you okay?" she asked her worriedly, then she moved her eyes to me. "Is she your friend, Tzuyu?"

"She's someone really important, Mom," I simply answered.

"I see.. if you need more time, then I'll give two some space so you can talk. But don't forget that the flight is only 25 minutes away. You should be there, okay?"

After my Mom left, I gave all of my attention back to Sana Unnie.

"U-Unnie.." I looked at her in the eye and forced a smile. "Wanna play a game?" I said with my plan in mind.

But of course, I didn't get a good reaction from her. She hit me hard in the shoulder and shouted in despair. "How can you even joke when you're leaving me in a few minutes?!"

"We can make every minute count starting from now on, Unnie. Our time is limited, so let's make it special.. shouldn't we do that, instead?" I managed to say.

But to my surprise, she suddenly hugged me. "T-Tzuyu-yah.." she said as she bursted out more in tears. "Why are you leaving me now? W-When everything's fine.. when I just arrived from Japan. Before I was the one who left.. and now it's you."

I pulled away from her as I slowly shook my head. I was trying so hard not to cry again and make it look like everything is going to be alright. "This is exactly why.. w-why I tried to avoid you from the start. But just like you Unnie, I wanted to do this before I leave.. s-so I won't have any regrets that I didn't get to be with you, for once in my life.."

But after I said that, she just lowered her head and started wiping her tears with her palms.

I wanted to comfort her so much.. I wanted to be the person to stop her from crying.. but what is there for me to do if I'm clearly the reason why she's being tormented right now?

After a few seconds, she suddenly grabbed my hand and forced a smile.

"W-What kind of game are we playing, Tzuyu-yah?"

She finally agreed.

I looked at her and smiled back even though it's definitely the most painful smile that I ever had to do. "A game where I'll make sure to keep you happy.. every single day, Sana Unnie."

To be continued..
