It was my last week of holiday. I was having an amazing holiday so far. I spent the most of it with Noah, my amazing boyfriend. We went to the beach, shopping mall, cinema, and so much more. It was amazing. Noah is so funny, spontaneous, beautiful, sweet, cute, hot, and supportive - he is just perfect. He has beautiful bright blue eyes, dark blonde hair and is about 6 feet tall.

We’ve been dating for 6 months. We are going to celebrate tomorrow. I don’t know how, yet. He said that it would be a surprise. Aahrwg I hate surprises. I wonder why boys think that girls like surprises. Surprises are one of the worst things in life.

“Jessica! Jessica, come downstairs. Dinner is ready.” called my mom. “Okay I’m coming.” I stood up and walked to the stairs. Mmm, it smelled really good.

I saw everyone already sitting at the dinner table. We always eat dinner together. “Mmm it smells really good, mom.” I said. “Oh, hey dad and Ryan.” Ryan is my 2 years older brother. “Hey Jess” Ryan and dad said at the same time. They busted out laughing, which caused my mom and I to laugh too. Ryan and dad often say things at the same time. I love my family.

Once everyone was done with eating their spaghetti, we stood up from the dinner table and cleaned everything up. Ryan and I always do the dishes together. 

“So how is it with that popular guy of yours?” asked Ryan.

“For the thousandth time now, his name is Noah. And everything is perfectly fine between us. Tomorrow is our 6 month mark.” I said a little too harsh than I meant to be. But come on! He has asked me that like 4 times a week. He doesn’t like Noah that much.

“Wow, 6 months already?! Do you love that stupid guy or something?”

With that, I felt my cheeks heat up. ´I… Uh-uh do not lo-love Noah.” I stuttered. Ryan looked deep in my eyes, making my cheeks heat up even more, and then he shouted:

“Oh no, You really do love him?! I see it in your eyes! Jessica is in love; Jess is in love, Jess. Is. In. Love.”

“No! Shh! I’m not in love with him!” Okay, that was a lie but I couldn't say to my older brother that I was in love with Noah. Could I? No, I couldn’t. Noah was his enemy since… I don’t know for how long, but I can tell you that it’s long. And I just found out that I’m in love with him yesterday. But no one knows that. Except for my brother… But I didn’t confirm it to him. So technically, no one knows. I wanted to tell Brooklyn, my best friend, that I’m in love with Noah, but I don’t have time for that yet.

“Jess?” I heard my brother say.

“Uuh… Sorry what did you say?”

“Nothing important. Let it go.”

“No, please say it again.”

“Why would I tell you if you’re in one of your day dreams about that stupid quarterback?” he said a little annoyed.

“Because I want to hear what you said.” Ugh… it really annoys me when someone talks to me and doesn’t want to repeat it.

“That’s a shame for you because I’m not going to tell you.” And with that, he walked away.

This is going to be a great night. Not.

I lie in my bed, staring at the wall when my dad came in.

“Honey, what’s bothering you? You’ve been upstairs in your room since dinner.”

“It’s nothing.”

“Don‘t lie to me.”

Gosh! Why can everyone see when I don’t speak the truth? “Because Ryan is again so negative about Noah… I don’t know what happened between Noah and Ryan but I’m now Noah’s girlfriend. For 6 months already. 6 months, dad! Ryan has to accept that. It’s getting really annoying with the tension and arguing with Ryan about Noah.”

With that, he hugged me tight. “Shh, everything will be okay hon.” I’ll talk to Ryan.”

Ryan and I always get along well with each other. Except when it comes to Noah. I don’t know why they hate each other so much. What happened between them that they are enemies for so long?

“Thanks daddy. I love you.” I whispered with a smile.

“Love you too.”

I feel really tired but it was only 8 pm.  That’s too early to go to sleep. And I don’t want to move. My dad’s arms were too good to lie in.

“Shall we drink something?” asked my dad in my ear.

Actually, I am very thirsty but I don’t want to leave his arms. “Yeah sure.”

Once I came downstairs, my brothers and mum were sitting together on the couch. Okay. Why are they staring at me? This is really awkward. “Is there something wrong?”  I asked.

“Actually...” William started, one of my 5 brothers. Shocking huh? 5 brothers. I know. First you have oldest one, Ryan. Next you have William. William and I are twins. Then you have Ethan. And at last you have the little twins Benjamin and Liam.  Now you know a little bit more about my family.

Dad was now sitting too, which made me stand all alone with everyone watching me. “Uhh guys. Could someone tell me what’s going on here, please?”

I felt the tension rise in the room. And then I heard my little brother Benjamin say “Noah has had an accident.”

“And now is he at the ICU.”  Liam finished off.
