Luke's POV:

I basically spent my weekend sleeping and taking painkillers every four hours. I will never stay for another party. I wish my headache would go away but I can't seem to stop thinking. Every time I blink I see those green eyes. They were scared, dull, empty bright voids that I can't stop thinking about. They belong to..Louie? Yeah, I think that is his name. The deaf boy if I remember correctly. I wonder why he was up at the school? What was he doing? There usually aren't any students there on weekends and he had all of his books with him.

I just shook my head to try and get rid of all my unanswered questions as I walked to school. I didn't feel like being around Eric at this moment, and Ryan would only piss me off so therefore, I will walk. I needed to clear my head and have some space. I'm not sure why I am so curious about this boy i just met? He just seems so familiar and yet I feel like I've never seen him before. I just remember those eyes from somewhere and it's confusing the shit out of me. I've never taken interest in anyone like this before and it's unusual for me. I don't know, maybe I'm just loopy from all the pain medication I consumed over the weekend.

As I made my way up to the school, I heard someone yelling and suddenly a small boy collided into my chest, which sent him tumbling to the ground along with me. I wasn't prepared for that, I landed on my ass and scraped my hands against the unforgiving concrete.

" ow, what the hell...? ". I groaned, wiping my hands on my black jeans to try and get some of the dust off.

I glanced up to see the kid with the green eyes I couldn't forget. It was Louie, he once again had all of his books gripped tightly to his chest as he looked at me fearfully. I gave a awkward smile to try and let him know it was alright until I saw Eric and Ryan run up to me.

" There it is! Grab 'em ".

I glanced up to see Ryan reaching out to grab Louie and something inside me flipped. I sprung to my feet and shoved Ryan away. He gave me a "wtf" look as he sized me up and down. Eric was standing behind him with the same expression as if he was his back up. I slowly stood in front of Louie with my fist balled up as I stared menacingly at the two idiots that claim to be my friends. They had no right to treat anyone this way, I wasn't about to let them bully someone so innocent.

" move Luke, none of this concerns you ". Eric growled, taking a step forward as he glared at the small boy behind me.

" what could he have done to you? You don't have a scratch on you ". I watched as Eric rolled his eyes and shook his head.

" what's with you? You've never gotten in my way. Do you really care about something so pathetic? ". Eric scoffed, crossing his arms over his chest with a smirk.

I glanced around to see that I've drawn a crowd, everyone was encircling us, just watching and recording. What's with people? Is this really entertaining for them? Standing up for someone who needs help. I guess it rarely happens so people aren't use to seeing it. Eric knew I didn't do good under pressure. He was smirking as I looked around, everyone's eyes were on me and I just wanted to leave the situation. But, I glanced behind me to see the small deaf boy that I've grown fond of for some reason. He was still on the ground, balled up in a fetal position as if he could shut the world out.

" just back off ". I muttered, gripping onto the arm of my backpack as I became increasingly nervous.

Eric laughed as he placed a hand behind his ear and leaned forward with a teasing smile.
