Chapter Three

"For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us to lay on you no greater burden than these requirements: that you abstain from what has been sacrificed to idols, and from blood and from what has been strangled, and from sexual immortality. If you keep yourselves from these, you will do well. Farewell."

            *Acts – 15-28-29*

I was in third period when my eyes started to drift downward; sleep was begging me to come to it. I was even starting to hear the blonde in Red's voice whispering in my ear. Like any other teenager, I asked the kid next to me for gum. I don't know what is in gum that helps me, but I never fall asleep with gum in my mouth. So I thought I'd try this, but fourth period came along and it was my worst subject; Math and the gum had lost flavor. Ignorantly I spit it out in the nearest trashcan. Doing this I didn't realize what was going to happen, the worst thing possible to do in high school, besides lighting it on fire, I fell asleep.

"Oh good, you finally came!" The woman cooed, but her tone was somehow childish, even though she looked somewhere in her early twenties.

"What do you mean?" I asked still a little drowsy.

"They ALWAYS come!" She disappeared and I then looked around to see where we were; tall uncut browning grass was a couple feet tall. There was a giant red barn that the women seemed to be running towards, I could barely make out her running patterns as she was nothing but a blur. Stupidly, I followed hoping to talk to her more.

"Wait!" I yelled my throat itchy, the door opened and the blur stopped. She wore a different red dress, one more modern and WAY more revealing.

"Can't you keep up? Human..." she taunted and added human with a curl of her lips walking into the barn slithering. I followed only because when I turned around the back images were disappearing into a white hue which was very disturbing and unsettling.

I pushed open the big ole barn door as the girl had but it was much heavier than I had thought. Inside, it was dark and scarier than all get out. I felt with my hands trying to find another way out, it was huge and it could take me an hour or two easily trying to find the back door. Great, I'm probably failing a test in the real world; I hit something and fell hard on the rotting wood. Ah, that was disgusting it smelled like dead bodies! Not that I really know what a dead body smells like but I'm sure that was it.

"Don't reject me Gage, or bad things will happen." The voice, the girl's voice came from just a couple feet away, my head snapped in that directed and then a light came on. Just a little kerosene lamp but it was enough to light that I saw all the dead bodies. They all were men, all of them had glowing moon colored eyes, blood dripped from their bodies in a dried line of a fleeing act. I gasped and back crawled to the door, tripping on some bodies on the way there.

"You're sick!" I yelled opening the door to find all white, there was nothing 3D about what I saw, it was just a giant blob of white. A field of white, nothing stood out, nothing was there, and I jumped into it when a hand gripped the back of my neck.

"Gage Lazaro I will have you!"

She yelled as my dream disintegrated and turned back into my math class where the teacher was hovering over me. I snapped upwards as he hit my ear with a ruler.

"OW!" I yelled jumping up in my seat, the table big enough for three people to sit at flung up and fell after tittering on two legs.
