"Shit! The tire's fucking stuck in the sand!" Jordan exclaims.

We all step out of the van to look at the thing preventing our road trip going further.

"We'll get it fixed, don't worry about it." Joe says with a smile.

"I hope so, it's hotter than hell out here." Jordan replies.

Me, Aleks and James begin to explore around, finding a beautiful canyon. Well, me and James, God knows where Aleks went, probably to take a piss in a bush.

"Wow.", is all I can say before I pull out my camera to take a picture.

I squat down to get a good angle, not paying attention to my footing.

I suddenly find myself slipping, my hand gripped onto the edge for dear life.

"Help!" I scream.

I feel a tight grip on my wrist.

"I won't let you fall, okay?!"

I try pulling myself up, attempting to get a footing on the rocks.

"Be careful! Here, give me your other hand!" James says.

"I can't!" I cry.

"Yes, you can! Trust me! I won't let you go."

I slowly remove my hand from the rock I was holding onto, and feel James' secure a tight grip on my other wrist.

He pulls me up as I use my feet to climb upwards to the top.

The second I get back onto solid ground, I'm shaking.

"Hey, it's alright." James says as he pulls me into a hug.

Once I stop shaking, we walk back to the van.

"Hey! Just in time, we just fixed the tire." Jordan says.

"You guys ready to head back on the road?" Joe asks.

"Yeah, we are." James says as he rubs my arm to comfort me.

"Alright, let's go!" Jordan says excitedly.
