Mercy's POV

"Get the fuck off Tyler! Your heavy!"

I grunt and struggle to move Ty, another childhood friend, off my back. I met Tyler in middle school and we've been best friends ever since. We were like Spongebob and Patrick, Batman and Robin, he is the salt to my fries and the salsa to my tacos. Except right now he's being a little baby.

"Not until you say you're sorry," he says sounding comfortable just sitting on my back.

"For what!?"

"Um, for not telling me you are back since like last week?"

"It's only been a few days, dumbass!"

"Apology not accepted. You really need to try harder."

"Oh God, I'm sorry. There happy?"

"No, why are you apologizing to God? Here I'll start you off. Ahem... Oh Tyler my dearest friend, please forgive this lowly and undeserving wench! How could I have possibly not told you about my coming back home? I must be going insane!... Ok, your turn."

"You're full of shit, Ty."

"No, no, it's "Oh Tyler,". Say it with--AHHH!"

"Erica, get Bean off of me!" He yells trying to escape Bean's slobbery kisses. Ha! Serves you right, jerk.

Erica: "Don't be such a baby, Tyler. He missed you."

Tyler: "Ew, God, he licked my mouth!"

"I bet that's the best action you've gotten lately," I laugh.

Erica: "Don't go getting all horny for my dog. Bean has standards. "

Tyler: "Fuck the both of you."

Erica: "So I'm guessing Dee let it slip that Mercy came back?"

I love Dee to death but she couldn't  keep a secret if her life depended on it. She wasn't a gossiper. She just blurted things without thinking and she's the worst liar you'll ever meet.

"Yup, to Jesse actually. Then Jesse told me and Reese."

Reese is the third member of our little clique. Originally it was Erica, Reese and I. Then Ty, Dee, and Jesse came into the picture. Reese is the cutest nerd you'll ever meet. He's totally into his computers and video games but his passion is filming.

"Uuuugh, Jesse is going to kill me and Reese probably won't talk to me for a week," I say covering my face with my hands.

"You damn right earned it. Seriously, why didn't you call us? We could have picked you up at the airport and shit. We haven't seen you in years!" I could see the hurt in his eyes and I immediately felt guilty. I'd feel the same way if he'd done that to me.

"I know. I'm sorry. I just wasn't myself--"

"Because of the break-up. I know. Jess forced Dee to spill everything."

"Yeah," I answer screwing my lips to the side.

"Come here," he says opening his arms for me. I hug him back and we sit on floor for a moment without saying anything. This is what I needed.

"You'll be fine, Mercy. Look, babygirl  you're going to fall in love many times before you find Mr. Right. So think of it like this: You are just one broken heart closer to happily ever after."

"Ty?"

"Hm?"

"Are you quoting, Wizards of Waverly Place?"

"Wha'? Ha! Of course not. I would never be so cheesy...but I sounded like an awsome and supportive friend right?"

"Oh God, you're so lame!" I laugh pushing him away.
