TWENTYONE|

I had to get away. If I stayed I would've broke down but the thing was, I had no idea why I ran in the first place. I panicked, Namjoon was getting too close. At this point, I don't know if I am trying to protect my friends or myself. My feet pounded against the ground, sending me deeper into the city. Suddenly everything that surrounded me was unfamiliar. With the buildings looming over me like monsters, my fear creeped higher and higher. I collapsed against a wall, anxiety slowly setting in. My breath became ragged. I tried calling out but no sound escaped. My throat felt on fire but the rest of me felt stone cold. I slid down the wall and pulled my knees to my chest, putting my head on my legs.
"N-Namjoon..." I choked out his name hoping foolishly, he would come rescue me. I heard footsteps approaching and I smashed myself against the dumpster to not be seen. The footsteps stopped in front of my corner. I peeked out from my hands, a tall man with unnaturally red hair stood in front of me, a small frown on his face. He crouched down in front of me and reached out to hold my hand. I could sense he was good so I obliged.
"Well you don't look like one of the street guys, definitely more fancy. An office worker perhaps? Oh hey you're crying! Are you lost?" He studied me with a straight face. I could see the pity in his eyes though. I guess I didn't respond fast enough because he kept talking.
"Well, I'm Hoseok, I kind of live here." My eyes widened.
"You live in this alleyway?" He shook his head and pointed to a rusty door that was beside us
"No, I live in that dance studio there, I work there too. I'm a street dancer" He smiled and sat down next to me but soon, a serious look appeared on his face.
"So how did you end up in a place like this. You clearly don't belong here, no offense"
"None taken. I got scared so I ran away. I don't know where I am now" I sighed, running my fingers through my hair.
"Well that's an issue"
"Do you have a phone or something?" I shook my head, Hoseok's frown deepened.
"That wasn't very wise of you. Lucky for you though, I have a phone in my studio" He helped me to stand and we both walked inside. The lights were already on and a few people were dancing with earbuds in. Hoseok flicked the light switch to get their attention.
"Mr. Jung! When did you get back" A few excited girls came up to us.
"Just now, can you girls show my friend here the phone?" They all nodded and one of them grabbed my hand, pulling me down a hallway. We walked inside a small office area and there was a phone on the desk. They gave me privacy and walked out of the room. I picked up the receiver and held it to my ear.
"Jin hyung?! Where are you? we've been looking for you for hours!"
"I-Im sorry Yoongi. I don't know where I am though. Tell Namjoon I'm sorry" there was silence for a few moments and a rustling noise. Soon someone came on the line. I could hear them crying but still trying to keep it together.
"hyung..." My eyes widened at the sound of a surprisingly deep voice,
"N-Namjoon?" I burst out in tears, pulling the phone off the table onto my lap, I sat down on the floor. Namjoon's voice could be heard from the other line.
"We'll come get you hyung. I'm sorry for scaring you. Please don't ever run away again. Promise me you won't."
"I promise Joon." Our call ended shortly after, I was still trying to process the situation. We were talking about my grandma and then I flipped out about something completely unrelated. Good job Jin, you messed up your chances with a guy you've fancied for eight years. My forehead began to throb with an oncoming headache. The day had officially turned into a huge mess that was completely avoidable. Wonderful...

My thoughts were interrupted by a quiet knock on the open door, I turned around to see Hoseok standing there, looking a little solemn. He gave a sad smile and walked in, sitting down on the floor next to me with his back against the desk.

"I'm sorry for interrupting you. I hate seeing people sad." I shook my head and placed my hand on his knee.

"I assume this is your office, so I think I should be the one apologizing, I mean, I kind of dragged you into my problems" He laughed at my counter attack and held my hand, a warm grin adorned his lips.

"It is perfectly alright, I hope I was able to help you. Are your friends coming to get you? If not, then I could walk you to your destination. I don't have a car or anything."

"No that's fine, they're coming to get me. Oh I never told you my name did I?" He shook his head,

"I completely forgot about that part, my name is Kim SeokJin. You can call me Jin if you want to though, that's what everyone calls me."

"Alright then Jin. I don't really like using formalities with people, I don't really get too many elders around here. I won't ask if you are older than me or not, I'm sorry if you are and I offended you" I was a bit taken a back by the statement but not offended. Hoseok seemed like the kind of person to say something like that, I was perfectly alright with him not using formalities. He got busy with fiddling with his nails and the realization hit me quickly.

Hoseok. Jung Hoseok. How could I have been so bllind?! He is the missing piece to the puzzle! Now I know everyone is alive, but does this mean I am one step closer to doing the dance of death?

Soon we both heard a commotion out in the dance room, I assumed that my friends had arrived. We both got up and went into where we heard voices coming from. Everyone stopped talking when they saw me standing there, the five of my friends all ran up and gave me hugs. The last person was Namjoon, he stood there quietly as I walked over to him. I wrapped my arms tightly around his waist as he enclosed me.

"Its a big city Jin. Don't leave me like that" I nodded into his jacket and squeezed him. Namjoon lifted my chin so I could look at him. I stood on my toes a bit and pecked his lips.

"Cute..." He mumbled under his breath, I pretended not to hear and turned my attention back to Hoseok, who was leaning against the wall and studying our exchange. I waved him over to where the six of us stood.

"Hoseok, these are my friends, Namjoon, Yoongi, Taehyung, Jungkook and Jimin. Guys, this is Hoesok, he helped me and let me use his phone" I beamed at everyone. Jungkook spoke up,

"Thank you for looking after our Hyung, he is tough to deal with sometimes, I hope he didn't cause too much trouble" That earned an icy glare from me and a laugh from everyone else. Yoongi pulled me off to the side, speaking in a low voice.

"Jin hyung, are you alright? I just saw you get up and leave at the park. What happened?"

"I'm fine Yoongs, I honestly don't know what happened. One moment we were talking about my grandma and then the next I told him I wasn't ready and then I ran away." Yoongi frowned at me.

"You have too much on your mind. You should really take better care of yourself." I nodded as we began walking back to the group, who had moved outside. Yoongi made his presence known by clearing his throat.

"Jin hyung, we brought your car and your other stuff and everyone else packed up after we ate so there isn't anything to worry about" I inwardly sighed of relief. I grabbed my phone and turned to Hoseok.

"Can I have your number? You seem really nice and I kind of owe you after you put up with me"

"Sure, you weren't an issue though"  He laughed and took my phone, imputing his number.

After everyone said their goodbyes, we decided to head back to the apartment and hang out, plus I still needed to eat...
