Ghost Lover

Chapter Two

"Katherine are you listening?" Asked Alexander, who was sitting next to her on the lunch table.

"No, I'm sorry. Your music is lame." Replied Katherine who turned to look at him.

Alexander laughed. "What do you listen to anyways? Boy bands?" Asked Alexander.

Katherine smiled. "They're called Why Don't We." Katherine told him.

Alexander frowned. "Why don't we what?" Asked Alexander.

Katherine laughed. Alexander's frowned deepened. He pouted. He placed his arms around Katherine and hugged her. Katherine smiled.

"They're cute." Said Katherine breaking the silence.

"Who is babe?" Asked Alexander.

Katherine smiled. "The Why Don't We guys." Answered Katherine.

Alexander laughed, just then the bell range which meant the end of lunch. Katherine got up for her seat and started to pack her books into her bag. Alexander closed his binder and gathered his books. They walked side my side through the crowd of students.

As Katherine building came into view they both stopped. Not a lot of students where passing by. Alexander hugged her and Katherine hugged him back. Her heart beating really fast. She didn't want to let go but she knew she would be late to class if she didn't let him go. Alexander leaned down for a kiss but Katherine bowed her head down and lightly pushed him back.

"I'll text you." Katherine said and walked away.

A few of her classmates were waiting outside the classroom's door. She ducked her head down and was going to walk into class when her phone alerted her of an incoming message. She checked her phone and there was a message from Alexander.

Meet me at the restroom?

Katherine smiled. She sat down in her desk and waited for class to start. She texted Alexander a quick reply.

Give me 20 minutes and I'll see what I can do.

Thirty minutes later Katherine was walking out the classroom bathroom pass in hand. She texted Alexander that she was waiting outside. Katherine went inside the bathroom and washed her sweating hands. She stepped out of the bathroom just as Alexander exited his building. Katherine continued walking until she had reached the boys bathroom. Alexander had catched up to her.

"I like English. We were talking about Tupac." Said Katherine.

Alexander smiled. "Sorry I dislike Economics?" Replied Alexander.

Katherine smirked. "Economic as in the subject or the teacher teaching Economics?" Asked Katherine.

Alexander laughed. "The teacher." Responded Alexander.

They both walked back to Katherine's building. As soon as they got inside Katherine was about to walk a head and into her classroom but then Alexander stoped her. He grabbed ahold of her hand and slightly pulled her towards him.

"Don't go just yet." Alexander whispered to her.

Katherine walked back to him and smiled. Alexander walked up the stairs to the second floor. Katherine followed after him. Her hand still in his.  Katherine's heart was beating really fast.

Katherine's head was hurting as well as her entire body. Her left arm was itching. And her throat was dry. She could see light through her closed eyelids. She blinked several times to get her eyes to adapt to the bright light in the room. She began to look around. White. White walls. White floor. White ceiling. Katherine gulped. She let out a breath. Pale blue sheets around her body. She began to sit up and whimpered.
