it's been nine months since the snowball and mike and eleven had been together almost every day. they wanted to make up their time together that they lost over he 353 days.

it's currently summer vacation and mike rings up el on her phone that she got for her birthday a few months ago.

el picks up the phone and mike begins the conversation by asking how her day was since she had an appointment that day so she wasn't at school.

a few moments later mike asks el about a date. "so el, i was wondering i don't know.. would you like to go on a date with me?" mike says nervously while fiddling with the phone cord on the other end of the phone.

"a date? what's a date?" el asks softly. mike then tells her what a date is and el gives him an answer. "i'd love to go on a date with you mike." she says blushing harder than usual although that mike can't see he can tell she's blushing.

the two plan to meet one another at benny's diner at 7pm. hopper dropped off el while mike rode his bike.

once mike saw el hop out of the truck he runs towards her and gives her a big hug. he grabs onto her hand and they walk hand in hand inside the diner.

they sit down next to each other in the booth unlike across each other because they want to be as close to one another as they possibly could.

the two eat their food and talk to one another after they've finished they share a strawberry milkshake with two straws.

el takes some whip cream and spreads it across mikes nose and laughs. mike laughs and puts some onto hers also and she laughs with him. mike kisses her nose softly and she madly blushes.

after they've finished, a song begins to play through the radio. but not just any song. their song. mike grabs el's hand and they make their way closer to the music and he rests his hands on either sides of her waist and hers wrapped around his neck.

hopper comes to pick el up and decided to give mike a ride also. mike and el sit together
in the back of the truck holding hands with her head on his shoulder where she falls asleep.

as long as they have each other they are the happiest of them all .
