4th of July

it was july 4th, 1995 and all of the byers, wheelers, sinclair's, henderson's, hoppers, max and steve were all gathered around mike's backyard. mike was so excited to see el that night so he made sure the backyards setup was extra nice.

el was in her bedroom getting ready to go to mike's when hopper knocked on her door. "hey kid, you almost ready to go? we're leaving in 15 minuets." hop said as he slowly opened her door. el nodded and walked towards her closet. she chose a red tank top and blue jean shorts topped off with her converse and a white headband.

el applied a thin layer of lip gloss and walked out her door. hop and el got in the truck and sang along to some songs on the way to mikes.

the doorbell rang and mike immediately opened it. "el!" he shouted as he pulled her into a tight hug. el hugged back and almost made mike fall over.

mike guided them out back and el was amazed at all of the colors and sparkly decorations. the party came up to her and they all hugged.

that whole night the party played d&d and ate snacks. el and max danced most of the night to "girls just want to have fun", over and over again.

once it was close to midnight everyone gathered together and looked up at all of the fireworks, there was 'oohs and ah's. the first few fireworks el was scared of the loud sound but mike comforted her.

el looked up at mike and smiled "thank you mike, for everything." mike smiled and quickly pressed a small kiss to her lips hoping hop wouldn't notice. mike looked over his shoulder and noticed he was too busy anyway kissing joyce. el cupped his cheek and kissed him with fireworks exploding in the sky and their stomachs.
