Charlie *POV*

My school time were rough... But hey! I got through them. I got away with way too many things in my grade school years. Maybe it was time to change... just maybe.

Quinn, Trey, Soph, and Alex are my BEST FRIENDS and we're all practically family.

Quinn and I met at an Asian restaurant, her parents and brother we're working there and she was sitting at the bar doing her homework. She seemed pretty interesting and all and I knew her from 3rd grade (which it was the time I met her officially), so I went to talk to her. And that's about it... nothing special, but we got close quickly because of our bold common sense.

Now... Trey is a TOTAL different story. I probably met him in the most weird and really disastrous way... and when I say really disastrous. I mean... REALLY REALLY DISASTROUS.

We met in a middle of a robbery... Guns we're pointed and I was in the middle of a supermarket isle only with a few couple of innocent passerbys. I looked around for a way out of this situation when I found something...

Prepare to laugh your asses off... it was a bag of dry ice... Along with a can of that breath spray thingie you use when you go on dates. So anyways I made eye contact with a stranger who looked about my age (grade 5) and he immediately knew what I was about to do when I jerked my head to the items.

I quietly walked over to them, signaling my soon-to-be-best friend over. He followed obediently, grabbing the bag and tearing it slowly. While I tried to get the plastic off the top of the breath spray, the robber was yelling to his partner in crime.

"Aye!" He growled. "You better hurry da f*ck up! The cops could be here any time soon!"

He (the guy guarding us) turned around... but not to shoot. He got a nasty surprise.

The dry ice was already emitting the steam. Trey was lucky it was winter and that he was wearing gloves, because dry ice can really damage the skin. I guess it was the robbers fault that he fell on his hands, on top of the ice.

(I kinda wondered why he didn't wear any gloves... I mean like, if you're gonna rob someone, don't leave any finger prints right? Anyways it worked to our advantage!)

He immediately screamed out loud. "AHHHHHH F*CK!!! YOU LIL' BASTARDS ARE GONNA DIE!!!"

And that's when the cops came, but not after I got a good squirt of that stuff into his eyes. Five minutes later, the bad guys were in handcuffs and in the back of a police car.

Trey and I got praise, but I think this situation got us more than that.

Sophia and I have been best friends FOREVER! I mean longer than anyone else. We were neighbors in the same town. My parents and hers enrolled us into this toddler play date thing so that we could "interact".

I probably made only one friend, at that time, which was Sophia. People were bullying her because her hair was too black... Which was completely random. So I stepped in and helped her by dumping black washable Crayola paint over my head.

Probably not the right thing to do to my blonde hair... But it was for a good cause!

After that incident, Sophia and I would stand up for each other. And once we figure out that we were neighbors (I didn't go outside to play a lot as a child) we became the best of friends.

;-;-;-;-;-;

Now... Alex is the confusing one of the pack.

Alex and I hated each other. I mean DESPISED EACH OTHER. I don't get why, but we would avoid each other the same people try to avoid the flu.

We would call each other names, pass notes to each other calling each other random bad names, and we'd even try to steal each other's friends...

I didn't realize how stupid I was being until I was told something.

Alex was bullied at his last school, and his grandma died during the time I was bullying him. I didn't realize his conditions and I felt like a piece of shit right then and there.

The night I heard about that... I probably cried myself to sleep trying to apologize to him.

The next day at school, when Alex pestered me with names, I just sat and sulked knowing why he did this. And I felt like... It was all my fault.

So at lunch time, I saw Alex sitting on one of the benches in front of the classrooms, so I walked towards him.

When I was right at his face, I kneeled down. I looked straight into his eyes as he lifted up his head to scowl at me,

"I'm so damn sorry Alex. I've been such a turd nugget... I wish that you'll accept my apology." I sighed. "I know what you're going through. And I know that you must hurt a lot. So what I'm asking you," I held my hand out to. Him while getting on my feet. "is if you'll be my friend. We'll both push away everything we've said..."

He stood up. Slowly without looking up, but when he did, his jet black hair along with his ever forest eyes shone.

"I guess I'll have to accept it won't I?" He shook my hand and I pulled him in for a surprising hug, which he returned. "Thanks for accepting me..."

"Thanks for what?" I laughed. "You don't have to thank me for anything! I felt really bad, and I just wish that we could be friends!"

He smiled at me, and we raced towards the class for the end of the day. But also the beginning of a friendship.
