Stefan's P.O.V
I woke up and Damon was opening a decorated envelope .
" What's that ? " I asked .
" An invitation to Edward and Bella's wedding . " Damon said .
" For us ? " I asked .
" Well , you know Sydney would've gone , so we should ... for her . She was going to be Edward's " Best Man . " " Damon said and I cringed at the name of Sydney .
I hated to think about her.
" Edward told me that they wrote a song for the wedding and Sydney was going to sing it at the rehearsal . " Damon said .w" Alright, we're going , not stop talking about her. " I snapped .
Our doorbell rang and Damon went to answer it . When he did , he gasped .
I heard a timid voice say .
" Hi , I'm looking for my mother and my aunt . I heard they were in town . "
" Who's your mother ? " Damon asked .
" Katerina . Katerine Petrova . " said the girl and I fell out of my chair .
Damon let the strange girl inside " Your mother is not here . " Damon said .
" Well , where is she ? " the girl asked .
" She went off the deep end and skipped town when your aunt died . " Damon said bitterly .
" We all did . " I muttered.
" What's your name , anyway ? " Damon asked .
" Marina . Marie for short . " the girl said , looking at me .
I turned away . I couldn't handle this . Not this soon .
" How old are you ? " Damon asked .
Marina sighed .
" I'm 16 . " she said .
" Very funny , if you were Katherine's daughter, you'd be over 400 years old . " Damon said .
" How did you ... " Marina asked , suprised .
" We're vampires too . " I said .
" Oh . Well that makes things easier . " she said , relieved .
" I was born in 1491 . " she said .
" Oh , great . Another Petrova . " Damon muttered .
" Is there something wrong with being a Petrova ? " she asked .
" Well ... yes . " Damon said .
" Why ? " Marina asked .
" Because your mother is evil and pshycotic and your aunt is .... " Damon started and I walked out of the room .
Damon's P.O.V
" What about my aunt ? " Marina asked .
" We don't talk about her. " I said .
" Why not ? " she asked .
" Because we DON'T ! We were both in love with her and she's dead now ! OKAY ! " I spat .
" I'm s-sorry . " Marina said .
" Well , you're welcome to stay here , just don't bring it up . Espeacailly not around my brother , Stefan . " I said and then I walked away .
