It seemed as if we were heading in the same direction or maybe he thought I was following him because every few seconds or so he'd turn his head to check if I was still behind him. Fuck, I thought to myself.

"Excuse me," I called out from behind him. What's wrong with you! What are you doing, idiot?

"Huh? What do you want?" He stopped and turned to face me. What do I say? Am I supposed to answer? Answer! Just answer already!

"I just moved in, um... I was wondering if you could help me? Give me a tour around town," I croaked and stood, stuck in my own terrible life choices. He didn't move, his breaths were feint and I could do nothing but hope his fist didn't touch my face.

"Let's see..." the awkward silence made me want to just run away, "you stare at me through your window and then ask me for help?" I thought his comment would end nicely. I mean, I know tons of people like that. "No." He turned back around and continued walking. "And put some clothes on while you're at it." What did he just say? Why was he so blunt about it? I looked down and continued to walk slowly behind him.

He glanced back quick enough to where I could barely notice him doing it. However, I murmured, "Thanks though." I turned the other way but suddenly heard him slip a few words.

"Whatever Mini, just hurry up," he seemed annoyed, but it was clear as to why he called me that. I'd say I have a small frame. Besides, this was my chance to learn more about where I'm going to be living so I rotated my body around and started walking in his direction. "I said to hurry." I squealed in my head, I was making a huge fool of myself.

"My name isn't Mini, it's-" I was instantly cut off when he started speaking.

"I don't really care," he snickered sarcastically.

"Y'know, if you don't want to show me 'round you don't have to," I sighed in annoyance.

"Fine, have it your way," he stopped and put his fingers in his jean pockets, waiting for me to walk away.

"I was only kidding. Why are you being so weird?" I scowled. He let out a chortle, teasing me. "Well, are you gonna show me where anything is? We've just been standing here." I stared at him, waiting for him to start walking.

"Listen, Mini, don't boss me around," he grabbed the hem of my shirt and moved in close to my body, chills ran down my body. "Tell me what to do and I won't go this easy next time." He snapped. I could feel the tension between us as we began walking again.

"Um, do you go to Lakeview High School?"I shrunk in my own skin as I emitted the sentence.

"Yeah. Why're you asking?" He peeked his eyes down at me curiously, yet still aggravated by my presence

"I, um... I start there this Monday and I was wondering if maybe you could show me around?" I pondered. He raised a brow and stopped to look at me.

"I'm only showing you around because you can't take no for an answer. We aren't friends, pals, or buddies. You're on your own for that one. And I'm getting bored, so I'm gonna go home. Bye."

As he left me, I could feel the humiliation and anger build up. Who says yes and then runs away like that? Guess it was too good to be true.

When I returned to my house, I noticed it was slightly more furnished and cozy. "Hey, Noah, how was your exploration?" My dad asked me politely, but he canceled the conversation when he noticed my unhappy expression. "Everything alright? You don't look too good."

I looked up at him with a fake grin.

"I think I'm gonna like it here."
