"Cars don't just explode, Jeff."

Jeff rolled his eyes for the millionth time that day. He and Abed were walking down the hall to the Study Room.

"No, they don't. But they do if they're a rolling meth lab."

"I don't think it was an accident." Abed shrugged, throwing his books on the table.

Shirley shook her head at the boys who had just walked in. "Don't you two have any shame?"

Annie pet her shoulder for reassurance. "Starburns..."

"Had it coming." Jeff finished.

"Jeffery/Jeff/!" Everyone but Pierce and Abed shouted accusingly.

"I think he was murdered." Abed said after everyone had calmed down.

"Totally murdered," Annie said, rolling her eyes.

"Abed, these things happen." Britta always talked to Abed like a child, but then again, so did everyone.

"I think they were murdered," Abed stood up and ignored the two girls. "So I brought in..." He opened the door to two bickering men. "A psychic detective from Santa Barbra."

"Hello, perhaps we should... Introduce ourselves." One of them smiled. "I am Shawn Spencer, and this is Vanilla Bean--"

"No, it's not. Burton Guster--Gus."

Two more people--and older man, and a woman, Jeff guessed the same age as himself--stopped at the doorway. "I am detective Lassiter, and this is Juliet O'hara. Spencer, we have a case?"

"Give me a minute." Shawn closed the door and immediately the Study Group burst into flames of accusations.

"Guys," Jeff yelled. "This is not how we settle this issue!"

The group settled down almost at once.

"Abed invited these guys--Lassiter, Juliet, Shawn, and Vanilla--"

"His name's Gus." Troy corrected.

"My point is," Jeff continued. "They came here from Santa Barbra, which is a good flight away, and they came here to solve the case of how Starburns died."

"There is no case," Pierce said, clearly confused. "He died in a meth lab explosion."

"They don't know that. Right, Abed?"

Abed shook his head. "I told them I suspected it was murder, but I also told them what everyone else thought was going on."

"Abed! You have to send those people back, right now."

"Annie, were you even listen--"

"We are back," Shawn announced. "And ready to help solve the case of your missing friend."

"He's not our friend." Pierce muttered bitterly, and the rest of the group secretly nodded in agreement.
