"Charles Gallus to the office, please," the voice over the intercom droned.

"Seriously! What does Principal Boser think I did this time?!?" Charles moaned.

"Principal Boser probably figured out about what you did yesterday," Walker Allens snickered.

"But there's no way he could POSSIBLY know unless someone told him!" retorted Charles.

"Hey! No one told on you, Charles! At least that I'm aware of. Although that dance you did WAS pretty funny." Lynn Verre said, barely containing the laughter that bubbled inside of her.

"Ughhhhh... I hate Boser. He somehow finds out about everything," Charles mumbled as he shuffled out of the open classroom door.

When the door clicked shut, I grinned and turned to Chloe Fedesco, one of my closest friends. Some may think it weird that my best friend is a girl, but frankly, I don't really care. She and I had convinced Charles to dance on one of the desks during Spanish class when the teacher had to use the bathroom. She and I smirked at each other for a few seconds before I said what both of us were thinking.

"That was definitely worth it, Chloe. I can still see him dancing..." Then unable to contain our laughter, we chuckled and snorted until everyone else in the class was doing the same. Our class howled for a solid few minutes until tears started running down our cheeks.

"Ok, guys. We need to get back to class," said our teacher, trying to calm us down. We finally quieted down, but no one could think about class anymore.

"Please, Mrs. Summerby, can we PLEASE not do class. I can't even concentrate," Thomas Higgenbottom begged.

"No, Thomas. We need to get some more pages done. We only have three weeks left until school's out for the summer, " replied Mrs. Summerby. Thomas Higgenbottom was the person in our class that talked the most. Maybe not the most, but he is definitely the loudest.

As we tried to no avail to pay attention to our work and the lesson, I wondered about a certain thing-- How does Principal Zayden Boser seem to know everything? He must have a way that we don't know about. Thinking about this gave me an idea. Why not try to figure out Principal Boser's secret? We could even include Mrs. Summerby. She doesn't care what we do around here. She only cares if we listen and pay attention when she wants us to.

Suddenly, Charles burst into the room. "Stupid principal wants me to spend time after school cleaning desks! I can't take this. It's torture!"

"Are you kidding me? Cleaning desks is not that hard! I do so many other harder things at home. At least Principal Boser didn't make you clean the toilets. Those things are DIRTY," Blaire Freiberger spoke up for the first time.

"I guess," sulked Charles as he plopped down into his desk and slumped like a ragdoll. Blaire rolled her eyes. She was usually the mature one in our class. Most of the time, when people acted immature, she hated it.

Suddenly Victoria Ranford spoke, "I think we should forget about Charles' punishment right now. What we really should do is try to figure out how Principal Boser figures out everything." Wow. Exactly what I was thinking! I continued, "Yeah, that's a good idea. I was thinking about that very thing a little while ago."

"What should we call it?" questioned Anne Vass. Hmmmmmmm...good question. What would be a good name for an operation to figure out Principal Boser's secret? I couldn't think of anything. My brain is not always the best at finding cool names.

"How about Operation Freedom?" Chloe asked hesitantly.

"That's perfect!" I practically shouted, getting dirty looks from some of my classmates and Mrs. Summerby. "Sorry. Too loud," I whispered.

"What do you think, guys? Should we do this?" Thomas Higgenbottom inquired eagerly.

A chorus of yesses sounded from around the classroom. "Yes! Haha! This is going to be fun!" he continued.

Thus, Operation Freedom was started. No one knew what events would unfold in our innocent quest to figure out our principal's secret, but we would soon.
