The next day, Charles burst into homeroom excitedly. "I snooped around in Principal Boser's office yesterday while I was waiting for him to come and watch me clean the desks! You'll never guess what I found!"
"Just tell us, Charles. I don't like being in suspense," Blaire replied impatiently.
"Just wait, little miss impatient. I'll tell you when I'm good and ready!" was the grating response. "Okay. He had a letter on his desk to some other person--"
"That's really interesting. I bet it was to a parent of a child in the school," Blaire sarcastically retorted.
"You didn't let me finish. The letter was to a person in some weird group called WIO. There was some other stuff on the letter, but Principal Boser walked in before I could read it."
"Cut it out Charles and Blaire," I commanded. "Now that is actually interesting. We just need to figure out what WIO is," I said in a measured voice. "Does anyone have any ideas?"
Chloe spoke up, "Why don't we just break into Boser's office?" The whole class stared at her in shock of what she had proposed. "What else are we going to do? The only other thing we could do is google it, and that takes less than five minutes," she said defensively.
As the idea of how bold and straightforward Chloe's plan was came upon me, I smiled and gave her a high five. "Yes! I think that's a brilliant plan. Who wants to do it?"
David Stanton smirked. "I think you, Chloe, and Talon should go. You seem like the one in charge of Operation Freedom, and Chloe came up with the plan." I pondered for a few seconds before Anne Vass interrupted.
"Everyone in agreement raise his or her hand," she voiced. All hands went up except for Talon's. Talon Tsung was a foreign exchange student from Taiwan who was really good at martial arts and breaking and entering.
"Do I have to?" he asked in surprisingly good English, "I don't want to get caught."
"Come on, Talon. Nothing's going to go wrong," Thomas said reassuringly.
"Fine. But if anything goes wrong..." Talon replied.
"Okay. Everything seems to be sorted then. Only, what time and when?" Blaire said, cutting off Talon.
"How about tonight at 1:30 AM? That sounds like a good time," I replied. This is going to be great! I thought. Surely nothing could go wrong with my best friend and a martial artist alongside me!
"Sounds good Andrew," Chloe replied mischievously. That ended the conversation. As we walked out the door to our first class, I teased Chloe, "Ready, Chloe? This is going to be awesome!" She rolled her eyes and replied in a weird voice, "Yeah! I can't wait!" We fistbumped and walked down the hall.
