"Mate?" Julissa's father asked incredilously. He was the first to speak after the foriegn man. "Are you sure?"

"Yes." he said through a thick accent, neither of us had torn our eyes off each other.

"I'll let you two speak in my office." Mr. Mason said and we followed him without saying a word. Everyone was in a state of shock.

After Mr. Mason closed the door behind us we just stared at each other for a few seconds before he finally spoke.

"Uh, what's your name?" he still looked like he'd just been punched.

"Livia Kuper." I mumbled.

"I'm Dimitri Noskov." he was also mumbling.

I sat down on the couch and he took a seat next to me.

"Where are you from?" I asked trying to make conversation.

"Russia," he paused then sounding concerned stated, "You look very young."

"I'm seventeen." I was too suprised by having found my mate to give anything but short answers in that moment.

"You are very young. I'm twenty three." he whispered.

We sat in silence for a few more seconds before a thought hit me. We were from different countries, hell, different continents. I was young enough that it could be a problem for him. He was probably only going to be in town for a few weeks.

"Are you gonna reject me?" I probably sounded like I was breaking.

"Of course not. There's not words for how stupid someone who would reject their mate is, especially if their mate was as beautiful as you." he said quickly, sounding sure. I looked up and he looked hurt that'd I'd even thought he would do such a thing.

I smiled at him and he smiled back. It was the first time I'd seen him happy and his eyes seemed to sparkle for the second before his smile fell.

"We should go inform your parents, shouldn't we?" he asked, back to looking concerned.

"Yeah, it's only my mom though. We live right around the corner." I said still smiling. We'd just met but he was my mate so I didn't like him being concerned or upset.

"Alright, lets go on over." he smiled slightly before I stood up and headed out into the hallway with him following closely.

When we got into the living room Dimitri told Mr. Mason where we were going as my friends looked at me with eyes full of curiosity. I mouthed for them to come over later as we left and started down the street. The walk was filled with awkward small talk and when we finally neared my house I heard someone call my name.

"Liv!" I turned around to see my friend Parker jogging across the street. He was smiling as he got to me but raised an eyebrow curiously when he saw Dimitri. "Who's your friend?"

"Oh, hey, this is Dimitri." then to Dimitri I said, "And this is my friend Parker."

"We haven't met, how do you two know each other?" Parker asked eyeing Dimitri suspiciously.

"She's my mate." Dimitri stepped in. He was being possesive which didn't suprise me. Before a male marked his mate he could barely stand another male wolf being within twenty feet of her so me and Parker being friendly wasn't pleasing to him.

"Oh, that's umm, wow, when did that happen?" Parker was almost as shocked as I had been.

"We just found out like fifteen minutes ago." I explained, "We're headed over to tell mom right now."

"You want me to tag along?" Parker asked. "She loves me."

"No." Dimitri said flatly and I had to hold back a giggle. It might have just been the bond but I thought him being jealous was kind of endearing and cute.
