The next week seemed to fly by. I was occupied with school and Dimitri was occupied with his work, we saw each other in the evenings and made the most of our time together. He had taken to nibbling on my mark as a way of driving me wild with desire; who knew my mate was such a tease. By the time Friday came I had only fallen for him that much harder.
Me, Jules, and Candace had just gotten out of school and were sitting in my living room talking about our weeks and doing homework, it had been the first time we'd all hung out at one of our houses this week and it was nice to be with them. They were my best friends, more like sisters, and we all missed each other when we didn't see much of one another.
"I don't understand this. I don't understand any of this." Julissa groaned staring at a prompt for a history paper.
"Neither do I, I'm gonna have to ask him about it Monday." Candace agreed referring to our history teacher.
"This is absolute hell." I stated setting my copy of the prompt on the coffee table.
"Did anybody else notice how hot it was today?" Jules asked glancing over at us and we both nodded. It was twenty-five degrees hotter than it had been yesterday and I hated it. Heat was not my favorite thing.
"I'm ready to jump in a tub of ice." I joked, well half-joked.
"It's not a bad idea to have it the back pocket." Candace giggled right as my mom burst in.
"Girls go home, the alphas having us evacuate. Livia, honey, go pack yours and Dimitris things. I have a feeling he's going to be to busy to get his own stuff." she said quickly.
"What's going on?" I asked as my friends gasped. This pack had never evacuated its territory, ever.
"I don't know, all I know is we're joining the new members of our pack on the old Villishan territory because it's more rural or something like that." she tried to explain.
"I'm confused." Candace said tearing up. I understood her panick, this was beyond weird for our pack.
"I know sweetie, I am too but you need to go home and pack. We're all supposed to be out of here by tomorrow at noon." my mom said softly laying a hand on each of Candaces shoulders.
"Okay." Jules mumbled grabbing a visibly shaken Candace and pulling her out the door. They hadn't even thought to remember their backpacks.
I looked at my mom desperatley wanting to know more but she just looked at me and ordered me to go pack before I could ask another question. I ran upstairs and threw almost all of my clothing into my three somewhat small suitcases before packing two backpacks and a duffel bag with the other things I needed and wanted; I only packed so much because I had no idea how long we would be gone. After I was done cramming my things into bags I ran over to Dimitris room and did the same with his stuff which went much quicker, he seemed to have barely unpacked the things he had brought here from Russia even though he'd been here a whole week.
I drug everything downstairs which ended up being a considerable pile of bags and waited for mom to come down too. She didn't take long and together we got everything into the back of her SUV, it was a tight fit seeing as she'd packed a lot too.
"Okay, lets go." she said walking towards the drivers side door.
"What? We have to wait on Dimitri." I protested.
"Shit, we're supposed to be out of here as soon as we can be. Call him." she ordered and I pulled out my phone.
"Hello?" he answered after a few rings.
I didn't even say hi before quickly asking, "When are you going to be home? We've got everything, even your stuff, packed and ready to go. Where are you? Do you know what's going on?"
