"Livia Kuper!" I jerked awake and came face to face with Mrs. Rice who looked pissed. Her deeply wrinkled face and fishy smelling breathe wasn't the most pleasant thing to wake up to. "Ms. Kuper, Im sorry if my class is this boring to you but you do need to stay awake."

"Yes ma'am." I mumbled groggily and with some obvious irritation. Mrs. Rice was by far my least favorite teacher and she taught my least favorite subject, math, so almost everything I said to her was laced with some sort of anger.

"Stay awake Ms. Kuper." she practically snarled before walking back to the board and continuing her horrifically boring lesson.

I heard a snicker and glanced over to see one of my best friends, Candace, choking back laughter. "Way to go." she whispered.

"Bitch." I shot back.

"Love you Liv," she giggled.

"It's gonna be the longest day." I mumbled to no one in particular which only made Candace laugh even harder and after a few seconds I joined in.

After Mrs. Rice snapped at us for laughing the rest of class went slowly, as most math classes do, and when it finally finished Candace and I bumped into our other friend Julissa on the way to lunch. She seemed excited which was unusual for her, Jules was usually calm and even kind of timid.

"Okay, what the hell's going on?" I broke down and asked, she was driving me insane.

"I overheard dad talking this morning," she squeeked excitedly. I was hyperfocused now, her dad was the beta of our small pack so he knew everything that was worth knowing. "About thirty wolves from all around the world are staying with the pack for a few weeks so they can meet with the alpha of our pack and the alpha from another pack, I'm not sure which one though."

"What are they coming for?" Candace asked loudly.

"Shhh!" Julissa looked slightly annoyed with her but still estatic. "I dont know what theyre coming for but I know it's still a secret. Or at least I figure it is until they show up."

"And when is that?" I pressed.

"Ummm late tomorrow night." she said after a quick moment of thought.

"This is so exciting!" I squeeled. "If they're making some kind of deal it could put our pack on the map."

"Oh that too!" Candace said wide eyed.

"What were you thinking was gonna happen?" I asked incredilously.

"I just wanna find my mate." she said making me laugh.

"Well I hope you do find him," I said sweetly following it up with, "whoever that poor guy is."

"Oh you're cruel." she snarled playfully and lightly shoved my arm.

"Hey, hey, break it up." Julissa giggled. "Lets go to lunch."

After school we all piled into Julissa's car and she started driving toward her house. We were desperate to find out more about the foreign wolves so like any self respecting teenage girls we were gonna listen in on Julissas dad for information.

"Guys." Candace said flatly in  the back seat.

"Huh?" I turned around.

"Hungry." she mumbled.

"Same." I said and we both looked at Julissa who sighed before turning into our favorite diner.

We all got out of the little green beetle and got seated towards the back of the diner. It was werewolf owned and run so there were a lot of people from the pack around as usual and unfortunatley we couldn't gossip about the visitors.
