The Screenplay

FADE IN:

EXT. HIGH SCHOOL - DAY

We see the outside of a high school somewhere in the USA, where numerous students aged 11-18 years old are walking around the campus.

CUT TO:

EXT. FOOTBALL FIELD - DAY

At an American football field with the school, two teams, including the school's team are in the middle of an important match. Representing the school's team are a group of popular jocks, including the captain, BRAD, his friends KYLE, SCOTT, BRETT, CODY as well as the only black member of his friendship group, TREVON. The other players on team are unidentified. Brad is preparing to run for the touchdown zone.

The team's COACH is on the touch line, watching intently. The school's team is losing 22-17, which we can see on the scoreboard in the stands. The game is in it's closing stages. Kyle is getting ready to restart play. He looks around at his teammates.

KYLE: Forty four, thirty seven, eighty two, hike!

Kyle throws the ball between his legs to Scott. Kyle sprints towards the touchdown zone, and Scott runs away from an opposing player whilst watching Brad's run.

He then throws the ball across the field to Brad, who makes an excellent catch, runs past an opponent and runs into the touchdown zone, sending the crowd, his team mates, and his coach wild.

His team mates surround him in celebration as the scoreboard is changed to 23-22 in the school team's favour.

CUT TO:

EXT. STANDS - DAY

In the stands, amongst the hundreds of other students celebrating the touchdown we see a group of girls, JENNA, ZOEY, MOLLIE, CARLY, KAITLIN and AMELIE celebrating. Jenna is celebrating more wildly than the others. All the girls are associated with the jocks.

CUT TO:

INT. CHANGING ROOMS - DAY

In the changing rooms, the school's team is celebrating wildly around a trophy which the team won as a result of the victory. The Coach watches on proudly. Brad leaves the group for a moment and walks over to the Coach. They embrace and hug.

COACH: Well done my boy, your performance today was amazing. You showed great leadership out there.

BRAD: Thanks coach. Do you think my chances of nailing that football scholarship are still strong?

COACH: Put it this way, Brad. I had a quick word with the scout and he was impressed. Said you were the MVP.

Brad and the Coach shake hands and smile at each other.

CUT TO:

INT. STADIUM CORRIDOR - DAY

The Coach exits the changing rooms, holding the trophy. The jocks then exit shortly after, talking and laughing though their topic of conversation is inaudible. The laughter dies down.

KYLE: What now? Want to go get some food?

BRAD: Why doesn't we see if those dorks are around?

SCOTT: Their probably playing fucking Clue. Losers.

They all chuckle. Trevon checks his watch.

TREVON: At this time their normally in the common room.
