(y/n)

Okay... So my first class is math. Yay...

As I arrived, I found my seat in the center of the classroom... As it'd give me the biggest opportunity to make friends.

As I sat down, I looked around to see who I could become friends with. I soon saw that most everyone already had someone to talk to. Except one. A shy and timid-looking girl that looked very sad to be here. She was in a nurse's outfit, so I could only assume her 'ultimate' was something in the medical field.

Sadly, right before I could stand up, class started.

"Now, I could have you do introductions, but that'd waste precious time that we could use to start doing work, so we're going to skip introductions." Our teacher explained.

Most of the class (including I) groaned.

Why must school be so torturous?

Finally! Math is over! Now I can finally go talk to that girl!

Quickly, I packed my things together, before walking up to the girl.

"Hello." I greeted.

The girl seemed surprised, jumped, and started apologized multiple times.

"It's alright. It's alright. No need to apologize." I reassured her.

"Y-You sure?"

I nodded and smiled.

"Yep. I'm (y/n) (y/l/n). What's your name?" I questioned.

"I-I'm Mikan Tsumiki. P-Please don't hate m-me!" Mikan apologized, before running off.

Well... That didn't work as well as I had hoped or expected. At least I made a good first impression... I think...

Anyway, next it gym... Yay... Exercise... Yay...

Nagito

Guess I'm in gym now. Time to show the world how useless I am... Though I don't have to try to succeed...

After I had gotten changed in my gym clothes, I headed into the gym, where everyone was walking around the gym. Guess I got to do the same too.

As I was doing so, I noticed someone walking up to me. Someone I remember from earlier today. (y/n) (y/l/n), if I remember correctly. As the ultimate friend, she's got to be brimming with hope. If that's the case, why is she walking up to me?

"Hey Nagito." (y/n) greeted with a smile.

"Hi. Wow, to receive such a casual greeted from you, it fills my soul with gratitude."

(y/n) looked slightly confused.

"Well... I'm happy I could make you smile. After all, that's what friends are for, right?"

"Well, I don't know if you could possibly consider trash such as myself as a friend, but I am absolutely indebted to you." I explained.

"Nagito, you don't need to do anything for me. Being my friend is all I ask for." (y/n) explained.

... How can she already care for me...? It's so confusing... I shouldn't feel happy, for I'm just trash... But, I can't stop it... These feelings... Of joy...

... What is wrong with me?!

(y/n)

I don't get it. Nagito isn't responding, and seems to be in deep thought. Did I say something wrong?!

"Nagito, are you alright?" I questioned with worry hidden in my voice.

Nagito shook off his thoughts and smiled.

"There's no need to worry about me. After all, I'm just-"

I cut Nagito off by slightly hitting him on the arm.

"No. I'm not going to let you keep putting yourself down like that. So, every time you say something that belittles yourself, I get to slap you." I explained.

Nagito looked utterly shocked.

"As you wish."

After that statement, music started to play, and we were all instructed to run.

Now, I'm not the most athletic person out there, so I probably looked so slow compared to the others. Especially the athletes.

Luckily for me, I wasn't alone in my slow running. The girl I met earlier, Mikan, was also struggling to keep up.

Once the running was over, we were told to spread out and stretch.

"I can't believe I'm so weak..." I heard Mikan say while stretching as she was holding back tears.

"H-Hey, it's okay. I-I'm slow too." I reassured her.

"O-Okay."

After stretches, we were separated into ultimate athletes, and the other ultimate's. Which I guess makes this fair for everyone.

"Today we will be playing basketball."

... No! I'm terrible at basketball...

... Along with all other sports...

"(y/n)? Do you m-mind if I stay w-with you?" Mikan questioned.

I smiled.

"Sure thing. After all, we're friends, right? And friends always are there for one another." I said with a smile.

Mikan barely smiled back. But hey, I consider that progress.

Once we were in teams, we began to play the game... While Mikan and I hid in the back corner.

We watched as everyone played, including Nagito. He looked utterly lost, but was able to get a shot by pure luck.

He was thrown the ball, and in surprise threw it into the net.

... Guess he isn't the ultimate lucky student for nothing... Though it is unfortunate that he was on the other team...

Once the game was over, we headed back to the locker rooms to get changed back and such.

"Hey Mikan, would you like to come over today?" I questioned.

"Y-You want m-me over? S-Sure! I'd l-love to!" Mikan replied.

"Wonderful! See you after school then!"

"Yep! S-See you then." Mikan said, before running off.

Nice! Two friends in two classes! This is turning out wonderfully!

Sorry for taking so long to update. I've been really busy lately, and if you've been following me for a while, you know that I tackle WAY too many stories at once. Anyway, I hope you've enjoyed the chapter. I'm going to try to update every Friday, though I may not always be able to do so, especially since my family's moving soon, and I'm going to be busy with that. Well, that's all I have to say... So... Later! =^-^=
