Run For Your Life

A/N
Hello! Just fyi if you haven't read the books and have only watched the movies you might not fully understand this chapter. (You never know who could be reading) But the ending is Key to this story. Which I shall elaborate with the best of my ability without revealing anything. I have to keep up the suspense don't I? *jumps down to bottom of the page in an ungraceful manner*

I'm running. Why am I running? I think to myself. The dark fog that surrounds me clears and I can see the forest. My forest. I hear someone running beside me but struggling. I snap my head to the sound. Its Peeta but at the same time not. He's young. He's my Peeta but his face is who he was before the games. I can plainly see that he's hurt and struggling. I stop him. "Peeta" I say confused. He smiles sadly. "We have to keep running. Come on" he says pulling me and starts to run again. I stop him again, my stubbornness taking control. He turns to face me, his blue eyes are sparked with sadness but something else is behind it. Longing. "Katniss, you can only hold back the river so long. Run for your life. Run and you don't give up. I will be close behind. I'll come back with you and leave all that's burned behind just please run for your life " he says cupping my face in his hands and kisses me softly. Its almost like he knows something bad is about to happen. What the hell is going on? I'm so confused. Its not even funny, well actually- I hear a hovercraft over us. I instinctively grab Peeta's hand and run. We burst into a cleaning of a sort. I hear something whizz past me and I nearly dodge it. But I turn back to Peeta. He didn't. A metal rod sticks out of his torso. Blood quickly starts spreading throughout the wound and Peeta sinks to his knees. "PEETA!" I cry out. I fall next to him and place his head in my lap. He smiles up at me. "Always remember?" He closes his eyes and his body goes limp. I start to sob, the kind that makes your body jerk. My heart is twisted in pain. I couldn't save him. I couldn't save him. "You can only hold back the river so long" Peeta's voice echoes. I barely feel the net capture me and lifts me away from his body.

I snap awake. My body shakes with realization. I was the Avox girl that I saw so many years ago with Gale. I look to my right to make sure Peeta there and he is but most importantly he's alive. And snoring lightly indicting he's in a blissful sleep. I can't help but smile and run a hand through his hair. I am Katniss Everdeen. I am 20 years old. I survived two Hunger Games. I was the Mockingjay. I am in love with Peeta Mellark. He is in love with me. And I am done running.

Any who you guys want to know what I was babbling on about earlier don't you? *wiggles eyebrows*

Keep this ending in mind when you read the next couple of chapters okay? Okay. As previously mentioned this is key to this story. Katniss finally accepts the truth that she loves Peeta (Took her long enough.). Now I know what you're thinking, "Accepts? I thought she already told him she loved him?" You are correct but before Katniss only realize she was in love with him. Now her stubborn self has finally accepted she loved him. By which I mean she subconsciously knew she loves him but now she's come to terms with it and finally understands what she's gotten into. (if you still don't understand message me and I'll explain more (and might gives some glimpses into what will be happening)) I myself am not sure what I just wrote.. but then again I never do.

Sorry this chapter is so short and this A/N is so long I promise the next chap will be way longer -I'm thinking of making it a two part its so long- Anyway again sorry for the wait I'm trying my best with getting theses next chapters out quickly as possible... again sorry

GUYS! We are officially past 2k!!!! IT'S INSANE!!! I AM BOUNCING PEOPLE BOUNCING. THAT'S HOW HAPPY I AM. And I the Hero of Strangeness am like Katniss, I do not bounce, give hugs or any kind of physical contact, nor giggle (we actually have so much that is so alike its creepy) I'm getting off topic again aren't I? Anyway THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!!!!!!
