A huge fire lit up the town, singing, dancing, talking, and laughter filled the night. The sky was clear, the full moon and the stars shined brightly overhead as the night was young. This was a celebration; a celebration of joy. The birthday of the princess but also the celebration of a new marriage that was to be arranged. The people of Romania was celebrating these two events with happiness and joy, just as the people did for every royal couple. The only think was, the princess did not want to marry someone she did not know. The thought of an arranged marriage was not appealing to her. Many times she had tried to run away before her birthday so she wouldn't have to marry or rule this land. She was the oldest of two other siblings, it was tradition the oldest would rule.
Today, on her birthday she would try to run away as well. She slipped out of her window and lowered herself onto the ground, she quitely ran into the forest. Everyone was distracted because of the celebration. She stood in the forest, looking out towards her home; pain and guilt filled her. She never wanted that life and now she could live as she pleased. A twig snapped her out of her small trance and she quickly turned around; a man stood before her. He was tall and very handsome, when he smiled his teeth showed; they were so white. When she blinked the teeth grew! They were razor sharp now, she took a step back from him scarred; a scream came from behind her. She quickly looked and saw her home on fire, she had just left! This was planned! She looked around for the man, but he was gone. She then realized that whoever did this would be after her too, she started to run through the forest as quickly as her feet could carry her.
Another twig snapping made her stop; she looked around frantically, panting for breath as she tried to find whoever made that noise. She knew that she wasn't safe, but she also knew that their was no point in running because someone had already found her.
A loud knock made her snap out of the dream, apparently I had fallen asleep. How strange that I had dreamt that. I got up off the bed and opened the door, my comrade stood their.
"Yes?" I asked woundering what she wanted.
"I've knocked at least three times and have been standing here for five minutes. What were you doing?" She asked. It was clear that she was a bit annoyed at me.
"Meditating." I answered, which wasn't a lie. I had been before I fell asleep. She made a little oh sound and then was quiet for a moment.
"We should leave, it is not wise to stay here any longer." She said and I nodded in agreement. I gathered up what little things I had and we both left together as the sun started to rise once again.
