Darkness consumed her from all sides as she frantically looked around. The next few moments happened all too fast; a complete blur to her.

The next time she opened her eyes she was on the forest floor, the sun was overhead now. She squinted her eyes as they adjusted, she pushed herself up off the ground; she quickly put her hand on a tree trunk so she didn’t fall over from getting up to quickly. She stumbled towards her home to see what happened to everyone. She just knew something terrible had happened when she was unconscious. As her home came into view so many people did as well, but they were all dead. Tears formed in her eyes quickly as she got closer. She had to stop and look away at times; it was painful to her; to see so many dead. She looked again, trying to find her family or anyone alive. Yet no one was, she continued to walk in-between bodies; recognizing each one of them. As she walked she noticed her papa, she ran towards him; falling to her knees when she reached him, crying and sobbing over his cold body.

I woke up with a small start by something hitting the floor, it wasn’t a something though. It was a someone; my comrade had fallen out of her bed.

“Ow.” She grumbled and then pushed herself up. I chuckled a little bit, it was funny. She looked at me and then got up, going to the bathroom. What was with that dream again? Why was I dreaming of the past at such an odd time? I had no idea honestly.

“Want to walk around town before we go to the bar?” My comrade asked as she came out of the bathroom.

“Sure.” I said and went into the bathroom myself.

We both left the inn and started to walk around town; there were a lot of people out; buying and selling different products. We didn’t like people, but we could stand them. A little girl pulled on my pant leg and I stopped. Just by looking at her I could tell that she was living out on the streets. I grabbed an apple from a stand and gave it to her; she smiled happily and started to eat it. I gave the seller some money and we were both on our way to the bar again.
