"Hey, I like all that black shït...why are you being so nice to me?"

BETTY
IT DIDN'T FEEL THE same since Jughead left.
Archie was finishing the last stick of cigarette Jughead shared with him, Kevin was playing with the sticks of jingle jangle that Jughead risked his freedom for, Veronica played with Kevin's wallet and took out all his cards, and Betty sat still. "You weren't as boring as I actually thought you were!"Veronica grinned widely as she continued looking through Keivn's cards. "Geez, thanks, I guess?"Kevin rolled his eyes slightly, but then continued to tear off the ends of the jingle jangle sticks, pouring it on the table.
"What do you need a fake ID for?"Veronica asked, pulling out Kevin's fake ID from his wallet, waving it around in the air like it was for display. Veronica had a clear eye, she could tell whether something is fake or not. She consodered it as her super skill, and even bragged about it occasionally.
"So I could vote."Kevin replied plainly, and the grin on Veronica's face disappeared. "What the hell? You're wasting your time on politics?"Veronica huffed, shoving his fake ID back where she pulled it out. "I didn't say they were just for voting."Kevin told her. "Whenever I could sneak out I go clubbing." Veronica smirked, nodding her head approvingly.
"The next time you sneak out, hit me up."
"I'm gay, Veronica."
"What, I can't go clubbing with my gay best friend?"
Kevin's eyes widened at the title. Best friend. He's never had a best friend before, not one that is actually aware that they're his best friend. "I'm you best friend?"Kevin asked, clearly overwhelmed by what Veronica had told him. The raven-haired girl nodded in response, handing his wallet back to him. "Well, yeah. After today, I consider you all my best friends."She said, looking around, turning to face Betty. "That is, if you want to be my best friends?"
"Of course, V."Betty replied, smiling at Veronica, but she could see past the blonde's smile. To be fair, the sadness was evident on Betty's face, particularly her eyes. Normally, Betty was good at hiding her emotions behind a smile, but on that day she felt as if her feelings were all over the place and she couldn't keep track anymore. "I'm sure we'd all love to be your best friend."
"Then it's settled!"Veronica grinned, clasping her hands together. "You're all my best friends—including Jughead, even if he's not here right now. Every one of you guys is now officially my best friend, except for Gingerjudas right here."The smile was replaced with a fierce look on Veronica's face as her angry gaze fell on Archie, who had rolled his eyes at her statement.
"Veronica, Archie did nothing to you."Betty sighed, trying to persuade her new best friend, to change her mind. Archie was a fun guy to be with, and Betty knew that even though they haven't been friends even longer than she's broken off her friendship with Jughead. And she wasn't even sure if she still wanted to be Archie's friend, after all the things he said to Jughead.
"You're right, B. He did nothing to me."Veronica said, facing Betty, nodding her head in agreement. "But he hurt you by talking shît about your man, and you're my best friend and I won't let this pass."She said, and Betty gulped at Veronica's title for Jughead. Her man, Betty liked the sound of that. "It's okay, V—"Betty tried to put on a smile, but failed terribly and Veronica shook her head. "No, sweetie, don't tell me it's okay because you're clearly not."She said, standing up, grabbing her purse with one hand and taking Betty's hand with her other.
"Come on, we're gonna have some girl time away from Justin Gingerlake."
Betty followed Veronica, mainly because she had no choice since she was dragging her along. "Where are going?"Betty asked, confused, and Veronica led them to the girl's bathroom and locked the door behind her. "Like I said, my dearest Betty, we're gonna have some girl time."Veronica told her, setting her purse down by the sink. Betty raised an eyebrow at Veronica.
"And we're also gonna go get your man."
"He isn't my man, V."Betty sighed, leaning against the sink and letting her arms go limp. He was her best friend, and as far as Betty knew, there was no chance that he would even want to reciprocate her feelings for him. "He's my best friend."
"Keep telling yoursel that, honey."Veronica replied sarcastically with a huff. "Believe me when I tell you, girl, I saw the way he looks at you, and I swear to God that boy is whipped for you."She assured her, pulling out her make up kit from her purse. "What are you gonna do?"Betty asked.
"He's too dâmn scared to make a move on you, B. Like he's afraid he'll get friendzoned or something, and I know you like him more than a friend, so we're gonna give him a little push."Veronica said, looking through her make up kit and pulling out its content. "He's gonna fall so hard for you, Betty."She squealed with excitement, grabbing a red lipstick and looking at its shade before putting it down. Betty always had a minimalist approach to make up—eyeliner, a thin layer of eyeshadow, mascara, her pink strawberry lip gloss and blush, all the basics. And on some days when she's on a rush or she feels lazy, all she'd do is put on some foundation and mascara, then swipe some gloss over her lips.
"I don't think you have my colors, Veronica."Betty said, watching Veronica as she started wiping her make up off of her face. Veronica fought the urge to gasp—even without make up, Betty still looked beautiful. "Now I see why Jughead has sparkly for you. You don't even need make up to look gorgeous! I'm so jealous of you right now."Veronica pouted, and Betty blushed. Was it possible that Jughead really liked her the same way she likes him? Maybe it's just attraction, it's not the first time she's gotten that from a boy.
"Just trust me, B. Any color looks good on your, if the one who's doing your make up knows what she's doing."Veronica reassured her, a small smirk on her lips. She had this all planned out in her head, and Veronica swears that once she's done with Betty, Jughead won't be able to keep his hands to himself any longer.
"And I know what I'm doing."
