Chapter 8:dress shopping

After I got home from Lou’s yesterday, I realized that the party was only two days away and that I had absolutely NOTHING to wear. So I decided to wake a cranky Callie up and ended up having to drag her downstairs to the living room to plan out what we were going to wear.

“Well I don’t know about you, but I own no dresses to wear” Callie mumbled while plopping down on the brown leather couch.

“Same doe!” I replied while choosing to sit on the other couch because Callie refused to move over.

“Uh have you seen your closet? You have plenty of dresses! It’s not my fault you just don’t want to wear one of them!” she stated.

“NOT TRUE!!...Well, it kindaa is…” I sheepishly replied.

“Or are you trying to impress someone, oh I don’t know, a certain next door neighbor who you went swimming with last night?” she commented wittily while getting up to get a drink.

“YOU HAVE NO EVIDENCE!” I shouted jokingly while joining her in the kitchen to get something to eat for breakfast.

I put my phone on the table and saw that I had a text from Lou.

Lou :p : party place has been changed. Too many people for our backyard, so now we are planning it at Pantagis. See you there tomorrow :)

I quickly responded to him:

Sure:)no problem! Can’t wait!!! Bringing my usual group is that ok?

I put my phone in the back pocket of my shorts and went to go get the milk from Callie. I poured myself some in my lucky charms and waited for Louis to reply. I felt my phone vibrate and I checked and saw that I had two new messages. One was from Louis saying that it was no problem, and the other one was from Callie.

“Really Cal? We are literally sitting right across from each other and you decide to text me?” I said while shaking my head.

“Well I needed to get your attention somehow” she simply replied, “Oh, and I texted Lily and Ella to see if they wanted to come shopping with us for dresses because now the parties at Pantagis, which is pretty fancy, but only Ella can come because Lily has plans to go see her uncle in Pennsylvania with her family.” Callie responded.

“Okay!! I’ll text Rebecca too, and does Lily have something to wear?” I asked while texting Rebecca.

“Yeah she said she went to the mall with her cousin and happened to find an outfit for something else, but decided to use it for the welcome home party instead, and she mentioned the shoes were VERY cute” she said while getting her purse from the other room.

I put my empty cereal bowl in the sink and went upstairs to get a wristlet that matched with my light pink tank top. I settled on a blue coach wristlet and put my phone and credit card in it.

I ran down the stairs and saw that Rebecca was standing at the front door.

“BECCA!” I shouted, “I feel like I haven’t seen you in years!” I exclaimed while running to her and giving her a hug. Rebecca and I have been friends for forever, and have always been trouble when we were together, especially in Latin class. She may seem shy at first, but when you get to know her, BAM! She is a whole new person.

“Annabelle! Hi to you too! I’ve only been at summer camp for two weeks…” she said while returning the hug.

Callie soon appeared and gave Rebecca a hug. We then went outside and got into my black convertible. Rebecca pulled her light brown hair into a messy bun so it wouldn’t get messed up in the wind. Then we all got in the car, me in the driver’s seat, and Rebecca next to me because she called shotgun before Callie, which made Callie grumpy. After telling Callie she could pick her seat next time, we were off to go pick up Ella.
