********************DIFFERENT BREED PART SIX********************
FLASHBACK
Forty one years ago, a young Dutch couple had moved from Holland to East London, England. Mr Albert and Dourine Michel moved to a small 2-bedroom flat. They formed a brand new life, but that didn't come without the vigorous hard work. Albert worked in a factory loading heavy overloaded boxes of clothes into trucks for major retailers. The manual labour he endured and encountered often made his cream coloured skin dry and he would dehydrate often; his bones would ache; his hair was thinning in the middle and he worked so much for overtime he literally worked himself to the hospital on seven occasions; but none of that mattered to him as long as he was getting paid to support himself and his wife. A year later, housewife Dourine had an announcement.
The London sky was calm and bright, light winds encircled a residential area. Albert entered his apartment that he rented with his wife after his second admission to the hospital. He entered the house with his navy blue coloured, sweat drenched uniform and was absolutely drained. Dourine was in the kitchen putting the thoroughly cleaned plates into the cupboard. She had a curvy figure.
"Hi, honey" Albert said in a deep, bass voice as he kissed his wife on the neck. He gradually sat at the kitchen table, and took a deep breath. His wife finished the dishes, opened the windows in seconds and sat parallel to her husband
"Love, I just can't take this, hearing that you've been admitted to hospital...again" Dourine said with her moist, n eon pink coloured lips. She had a honey sweet tone to her voice. Her Brass Green coloured eyes looked at her husband with major concern as he rested his head on the table
"Darling, I've got to work. Times are hard and I only want nothing but the best for us" Albert answered, as he rose his head up off of the kitchen table. He clutches his face with both hands and took a deep breath. Dourine moved closer to her husband and placed her right hand on her husband's left hand, and put her fingers through her medium length, chestnut brown coloured curls. Her curls started at about the ear level and cascaded to the shoulders in large, perfect curves. Her fringe was straight and light.
"We're okay as we are, there's no need to work you to death. The second time in 3 months, come on Albert. You have to rest" Dourine smiled, placing her right hand on her Peach coloured cheek of her face.
"You need to understand, I'm not money hungry, but how can we survive without it?" Albert asked, as he looked at his wife with his Ice Blue coloured eyes. He scratched his honey blonde coloured, short length, retro-styled hair, which was slightly thinning in the middle in fatigue.
"Alright, you may seem sad now, but I got something to announce. It's even better than money" Dourine smiled, as she rose to her feet with excitement in her bright eyes. Albert looked at his wife with inquisitiveness.
"I'm pregnant!" Albert's eyes ballooned
"What did you say?" Albert asked as he rose from his seat
"I said I'm pregnant! I went to the doctors and I'm two months pregnant!" Dourine gleamed. Albert knelt down to his wife and hugged her around her abdomen in excitement. He somehow found some new energy from this life-changing news
"Darling, that is great" He smiled as he looked up into his wife's eyes. She lovingly caresses his hair
"I hope you won't kill yourself working. I don't know what I would do without you" Dourine acknowledged
"Don't you worry about nothing, our son or daughter will have the best value of life. Mark my words" Albert smiled as he embraced his wife on the lips.
Over the course of five years, the couple had three pretty daughters: Marianne, Claire and Christie. The couple moved to another borough in East London, into a bigger house, as Albert was making a bit more money in comparison to when he and his wife first came to London. The Michel sisters were taught to be respectful and vigilant, which saw each of them excel academically. But the daughter that excelled far beyond that of her sisters was Christie. She was the golden child and a Daddy's girl. Christie always scored astonishingly high scores on any intellectual test and exam, almost to the puzzlement of her parents who have literally no idea how she got to be so smart. With astonishing intelligence, the pressure to exceed what you have accomplished is inevitable. When she was fifteen, her father piled on the pressure for her to be the first in the family to go to college instead of straight to work. The heaviness of the expectations was so high, her internal character exploded and all of her morals were thrown out of the window. She became a wild child.
