**********DIFFERENT BREED PART TEN (TWO)**********
Milton wrapped his arms around his mother. Christie lightly kissed Milton on his forehead. This was the moment Milton was waiting for his entire life. They entered the cafe to have a bite to eat and talk
"I...I just cannot believe my eyes" Christie began as she gave Milton his tea and sat opposite him. Milton took a sip of his tea
"How have you been, Albert?"
"My name is Milton" Milton declared as he put his cup down, staring at his Mum. He was still shocked but tried not to show it in his face, and he remained firm
"Right...Milton" Christie falsely smiled as she took a sip of her tea "I can't believe you managed to find me"
"So you didn't think I would?" Milton asked
"It's not that...It's just that you must have been through hell to come all this way just to find me" Christie replied
"Never mind all that. I'm not here for chit chat...I came for answers" Milton said firmly
"My...how you have grown. You are almost a man, a very handsome one at that" Christie smiled as she took a sip of her tea
"Allow all this long-talk. Excuse me being rude but you've caused a lot of stress in my life, and I want answers right now, today" Milton said firmly as he consumed the whole tea
"...Do you want another?" Christie asked
"NO I DON' WANT..." Milton barked. The customers turned to Milton. Milton calmed down "What I want is for you to talk. I mean my whole life you gave up on me. You didn't even give the adoption agency a proper answer; you just threw me away like last night's food"
"No, darling, it wasn't like that" Christie said defensively
"Don't give me that. You know it, and I know it. But tell me why you didn't give me a chance" Milton asked
"Alright! I'll tell you" Christie began "I was fifteen. My life was in shambles. Your grandparents put so much pressure on me to do well in school as I just lost it. I became this rebellious girl. I thought I was grown and no one could touch me" She took a sip of her tea and continued
"I met your father after I got thrown out of a slumber party. Those sleepover-things. He was the nicest bloke I had met in a while. You look awfully like him, you could be twins! I was a drug addict and an alcoholic, I was stubborn and ignorant. I had a row with your grandmother and your Dad, and found myself pregnant with you" Christie produced a bottle of alcohol from her bin bag that was disguised in a 1 litre water bottle and drank. Milton scowled and shook his head
"Then what?" Milton asked
"I thought my life couldn't get any worse, and this was just a few weeks before my sixteenth birthday. Your grandfather was the most upset with me, I felt like I wanted to die. There was something seriously wrong. I tried to kill myself twice, I didn't care anymore, by overdosing; which didn't work. But when I was thinking straight, I was happy to know that you were alright inside me. Thank God the pills didn't affect you"
"But were you drinking whilst you was pregnant with me?" Milton asked
"Probably, I don't know" Christie said coldly. Milton was visibly angry
"Afterwards, I had just given birth to you. None of my family could make it to the birth for whatever reason. I spoke to your grandfather who agreed with me that it was for the best to get you adopted. My dad always thought deeply of his family, and knowing you were out there, no matter how safe you may be, he would have regretted it. He never looked at me in the same way, so I lied and said that you had died" Christie coldly explained. Milton was clinching his fist, he was livid
