I want to say a big thank you to everyone that has reviewed this story so far. Sorry for any mistakes. Hope you all enjoy this chapter xxx

Lots of love xxx Comet96 xxx

I'm currently editing this piece of work - when I mean editing, I mean I'll be adapting the story and plot, and I will be checking for grammar and spelling mistakes, but I may miss some as my main focus is on shaping the story so it flows well before I continue adding more chapters. I am sorry if it takes a while, but I do hope you'll all be patient with me.

I would recommend re-reading each new edited chapter as there may be changes that would fit in with future chapter and future edits.

Thank you for your time and I hope you enjoy.

If you do have any problems or any suggestions, please let me know.

"Whoa. Whoa, calm down, Storm," I called, raising my hands to gain the attention of the dark grey horse as he fought against Hugo and Grenn as they tried to move him into another paddock. "Hugo, stop."

"Ah, come on Ellie, we almost had 'im," Grenn argued, swinging his rope around as he moved closer to Storm.

"Grenn, I'm warning you!"

Going against my advice, Grenn stepped closer and almost lost his head when Storm kicked out behind him. This wasn't what I had expected this morning when I woke up. I was in the middle of talking to Mah-mee about last night when the commotion from outside had me rushing out to Storm's pen.

"Back off, Grenn. Hugo, get him out of here," I ordered, grabbing hold of Storm's rope and pulling him away from the men. "Hey, buddy, calm down. It's just you and me now. Just you and me." Running my hand over his nose, I started to hum to him, hoping it would calm him down.

I had no idea why Hugo and Grenn had bothered Storm. They both knew Storm hated men. It reminded him of the way he was treated during the war at the hands of Jeremy Graves. That man had no clue how to respect and care for horses, yet that had been his way out of fighting in France. Even our boys had fought during the war and we were lucky that they all came back alive.

"You're lucky Grandpappy bought you from that man." I sighed, pressing my forehead against his nose. I laughed as Storm sniffed at the cut and bruise, bumping lightly against my head as if comforting me. "Come along, Storm. Let's settle you."

Settling Storm into his new paddock with Farrah and Rose, I knew he'd be alright and settle down quickly. The two mares tended to make him feel comfortable and I never worried about him when he was with them two.

Shutting the gate to the paddock, I spun on my heel and marched over to Hugo and Grenn, the anger I felt earlier brewing again as I took in Grenn's sheepish look.

"What the fuck were you thinking?" I was beyond angry at them. I couldn't understand why they'd go in there alone with Storm when they knew how he got around men. They'd been there when Maddox was kicked and broke his arm when we first got Storm. They should know better.

"Calm down, Elsie," Grenn said, smoking on his cigarette.

"Don't tell me to calm down. If you've got the nerve to go in there with Storm you must have been kicked in the head!" Resting my hands on my hips, I turned my glare on Hugo waiting for him to explain. He knew I hated people going into a pen with Storm when I wasn't there.
