Sorry, it's taken so long to update. This story's been on my mind a lot lately but I found it hard to get this chapter out. I've had the first half of this story for a few weeks but the last half was a nightmare to write.

I hope you all enjoy this chapter.

Thanks for reading xx Comet96 xx

I'm currently editing this piece of work - when I mean editing, I mean I'll be adapting the story and plot, and I will be checking for grammar and spelling mistakes, but I may miss some as my main focus is on shaping the story, so it flows well before I continue adding more chapters. I am sorry if it takes a while, but I do hope you'll all be patient with me.

I would recommend re-reading each new edited chapter as there may be changes that would fit in with future chapter and future edits.

Thank you for your time and I hope you enjoy.

If you do have any problems or any suggestions, please let me know.

"You're not pushing him hard enough," I shouted at Maddox as he flew around the race track we'd built on the farm. He was helping me train Shade for his second race in a few months. This was Maddox's job, to help me with the horse's training seeing as he was almost as good as me with the horses.

"He's doing well, Ellie, you're going to push him too hard and it will be for nothing," Mah-mee said resting her hand on my shoulder as I shook my head.

"He needs to be the best."

"Sweetheart, you've been pushing him for a week," Grandpappy added, leaning against the fence as he whistled for Maddox to bring Shade in. "Give them a rest love."

"Maybe you should speak to Tommy." I turned to look at Mah-mee, glaring at the smile on her face. I knew what she was trying to do. She'd been trying to get me to speak to Tommy all week since my birthday and the disaster that was us.

"I have nothing to say to Tommy." I pushed away from the fence and made my way to the house getting ready to pop round to help Polly with the boys.

"Afternoon, Aurelia, afternoon, Uriah," Joey Lee said as he came into view with his brothers following behind him. Dougie and Rilie had smirks on their faces as they looked to me and I knew they were here to bring trouble.

"Alright, Nellie?" They both called causing me to roll my eyes at their newly fashioned nickname. I had no doubt why they turned up here now.

"Joey, why don't you send your brothers home before I give them a pair of matching black eyes." I was not in the mood to be dealing with their shit.

"Nellie, would ya marry me?" Dougie asked, producing a thin metal ring from his pocket as he approached me. I frowned at the ring, turning my nose up in disgust. Not even bothering to give him a reply, I turned on my heel and started back for the house. "Oi, don't ignore me!"

Sighing deeply, I looked over my shoulder and looked Dougie over.

"Fuck off."

Polly was stood looking at me, her arms crossed as she smoked her cigarette. Ada sat opposite me, the smile on her face growing as she waited for Polly to talk. It's not like I had decided I was going to sail to America. All I told her was that I was going to start spending less time at the house helping out with the boys.
