Packing up the house was no trouble. Between the eight of us, we managed to move the last of the sheep, and Maeve and I even covered the furniture with sheets for any future owners.
I'd called Papa in London and he promised to have the farm up for sale by next week.
It was all sorted and all we had left to do now was leave.
Maeve was waiting in the car as I helped Finn down from the tailor that held Autumn, Summer, and Chaos. Grenn and Hugo were tossing the last of the hay in the back whilst James was going over the plan with Kyle and Percy.
I don't know why we found it necessary to go over the plan, we all knew what to do. Kyle and Maeve were going to be a recently married couple and Finn and I were going to be Kyle's siblings who had travelled to Ireland for the wedding. The four of us were now moving back to our hometown, escorting Maeve with us.
James, Percy, Grenn and Hugo were posing as stable boys moving three horses back for a wealthy man who was interested in breeding horses.
"Stop worrying, James. It's gonna be fine. Come along, Finn," I said, ushering the boy into the back of the car as Kyle climbed behind the wheel."We need to leave James or we'll miss the boat."
"Alright, alright," he muttered joining Percy, Grenn and Hugo on the trailer, the four of them squeezed at the front, Grenn behind the wheel. "Let's go."
"I can't wait to be back in Birmingham," I said to Finn, wrapping his coat tighter around him as the late afternoon breeze washed over us.
"Me too, I don't like the boat," he grumbled, shivering at the thought of travelling back on the boat.
"You can sleep this time, Finn," I told him, wrapping a blanket around our legs as it started to rain. I hope our boat wasn't cancelled due to the rain.
Through the drive to the docks, the rain continued to pour, but it remained steady not growing heavier as our journey continued. I had hope that the boat was still ready to go, but had a feeling it would be slightly delayed. It would be a little hard getting three horses onto the boat in this weather.
"What's happening to the cars?" I asked as we climbed out of the car and rushed under the little alcove by the docks.
"Declan sold them to the docks," Maeve said, pulling an envelope from her bag. "Said they were interested in having them for future customers. You know, hire them out for people." She shrugged but handed me the envelope. "You need to find someone that goes by Samuel, he's the one that needs the keys."
"Okay," I muttered, holding my hand out for Kyle and Grenn to hand over the keys. "Right I'm off to find this Samuel, keep an eye on Finn."
Kyle went to follow me but was quickly called away by James as one of the crew members from the boat came and asked them about the horses. Gunner trotted at my feet, shadowing my movement as I wandered into the dock house.
"Alright, love? What can I do for ya?" the man behind the desk asked as I came in looking around.
"I'm looking for Samuel. We've got two vehicles for him."
"He's down on the docks," the man said, pulling a notebook towards him and flipping through it. "Try docks six, he's got a warehouse down there."
"Thank you," I muttered, heading back out the dock house and through the men working on the docks until I was making my way down to dock six.
While he had been helpful in telling me where this Samuel man could be, there were also about seven warehouses littered around dock six.
"Ya alright, miss?" A young lad asked no doubt feeling sorry for me. I looked like a drowned rat, the rain sticking my hair to my face and soaking my dress.
