I blinked several times, trying to shake off the trance I was in, and the stranger who was still holding me up helped me stand. He let go of me carefully, like he was scared I would fall over as soon as he stopped keeping my balance. He stuck out his hand for me to shake and I forced myself to take my eyes off of his.

"I'm Marcus. Son of Athena." This surprised me, so it took me a second to accept his handshake. I had expected him to be the new son of Aphrodite that my cabin mates had been gossiping about earlier. He sure looked like it. His dark brown hair was just as shaggy and attractive as Percy's, if not more so. He was tall and well built from what I assumed were years of battle training. His jaw was chiseled and when he smiled, like he was then, he had the most adorable dimples.

I realized I had just been standing there, my hand in his, staring at him, while everyone in the shelter had their eyes on us. I let go of his hand and tucked some of my strawberry blonde hair behind my ear. "I'm Ellie. Daughter of Apollo."

He smiled and I tried not to faint. "I know."

That caught me off guard. "You- You know?" I stuttered. He... knew me?

He laughed and ran his fingers through his hair. "Of course. I helped Percy, er, save you a few weeks ago." I wanted to sink into a hole and die. Annabeth had just told me his name, which I had already forgotten. Now I had made a complete fool out of myself in front of the guy, the incredibly cute guy might I add, who saved my life. I took a deep breath and decided to try again.

"Oh yeah! Marcus! Thank you very much for that, by the way." I smiled in what I hoped was a cute way and looked around. "Have you seen Percy? I should probably thank him too. I haven't really had the chance yet."

"Oh, so you know Percy, but you have no idea who I am. I see how it is." Right before I started panicking and diving inot some intense damage control, he winked. "Only kidding. He's a pretty famous guy. But sorry, I haven't seen him yet this morning."
