"What are you doing?" Storm snapped, pulling away from her sister, Crystal, who was attempting to poke her silvery scales.
"You're the only one in the tribe who has those scales. What do they do?" Crystal was curious, or, to be more exact, nosy.
"None of your business!" Storm snarled. "You don't need to know, so you won't find out!" Only she and her mother, the queen, knew about it, and she was determined to keep it that way. Too late did she realize that this would only make Crystal even more suspicious, and she would no doubt go tell not only all of their twenty siblings but most likely the entire tribe about all her theories involving those scales.
"Wait till Raindrop and Drizzle and everyone else hear about this!" Crystal cried, bouncing off across the clouds. "No doubt you'll have to tell us all!"
"Wait! Stop!" Storm roared, trying to call Crystal back, but it was no use. When Crystal wanted to do something, she would do it, no matter how hard anyone else tried to stop her. Oh well, she thought, attempting to reassure herself. I'm the oldest. They will listen to what I say. They have no choice. I'll be queen after Mother. As long as I tell them to keep it a secret, I'll be safe.
Hopefully, she thought with a shudder, then a yelp, as the cloud she was standing on suddenly burst.
