“Because….” Lili paused again to make what she said clearer, “Because I LOVE him!”
After Lili repeated herself, she flung herself into Gilbert’s outstretched arms. Gilbert lifted her up and twirled around in a big circle and then placed her back down onto the ground and he kissed her. Not on the forehead or the cheeks, but on her lips. Lili blushed and Gilbert did too.
“Lili I have to tell you something. It’s about your past.” Gilbert started and Lili turned to look at him. “You know when Vash found you in the alley? Well I alerted him you were there because when you were sleeping one night I saw you and gave you a loaf of bread and my coat. I wanted a better life for you so I told Vash about you. I hope you will still love me.”
“Thank you. I still love you, Gilbert.” Lili said with her face in his chest as they hugged.
“I still love you, too, Lili.” Gilbert replied and then they kissed again, not a dirty kiss but a sweet innocent kiss.
“Innocent love, that’s what this is. I see it now. My sister actually likes you.” Vash said with the glint of a tear on his cheek.
