Toby's Perspective
After about 10 minutes, I lifted Sadie out of the bath and took her back into our room, she put my hoodie on and got under the covers whilst I emptied the bath.
"Toby?"
"Yeah" I said popping my head out the bathroom door.
"I'm ready." The second the two words left her lips, I rushed by her side and waited for her to continue.
"I wanted to go for a run. To help me wrap my head around what's been going on. I sat by a tree just to catch my breath and heard footsteps I-it was Dot. He was standing there wearing a black robe and he had a gun." I put my arm around her as tears poured from her eyes.
"He said that this was all a game but the second his finger moved to the trigger, I legged it. He continued shooting." Her body wracked with sobs as I held her close to me, never wanting to let go.
"We need to tell the others." I said
"No, no, no Toby. We tell them, we could put them in more danger."
"Sa-"
"Please Tobes" she interrupted.
"Fine, for now anyways." she nodded in approval whilst wiping her tear-stained cheeks with the sleeve of my hoodie she was wearing.
*The Next morning*
I woke up to see her beautiful face. How did I ever find someone so perfect? Heart of gold. Beauty of a goddess. Smile of angels. Sadie really was something special. I decided to join the others downstairs for breakfast whilst she slept.
"Oh, lover-boy's finally awake." remarked Finn.
"You left me." said Damon.
"Uhh, yeah." I said, trying my best to hide what really happened last night.
"Wait a minute, where's Chloe?" I asked, trying to change the subject, I wasn't the best at lying.
"She's upstairs" said Finn quickly
"Is she okay, she's normally the first one up" asked Damon, stopping what he was doing.
"Yeah she's fine. I think she's just tired from last night."
"That girl sure knows how to party." I said, making them chuckle.
"How's Sadie?"
"She's okay now, just tired cause she didn't sleep well last night."
Our conversation was interrupted by the doorbell.
"Who is it?" I asked, suddenly paranoid.
"Don't worry, it's just Ava." Damon said unlocking the front door. The little girl ran into the room, her little pigtails, swaying.
"Finn" she cried, jumping up and hugging him. She did the same to Damon and I and then suddenly stopped and looked at all of us.
"Where's Chlo?"
"Umm, she's not feeling so well." Finn said. I was confused, didn't he just say she was tired. He was acting weird.
"Can I see her?" Ava asked innocently.
"Sure." He sighed and grabbed her hand leading her upstairs.
"Toby?"
"Yeah" I said, sipping my coffee.
"Don't you think Finn's acting a little off?"
"Yeah, I see that too."
"Should we ask him if he's okay?" he asked, putting his plate away.
"Not yet, let's see how the day plays out first."
*Chloe's Perspective*
I lay in bed, thinking. Noah's gone. Sadie's beating herself up about it. And Finn has been acting weird around me all morning. I stared out the window and watched the neighbor's dog pounding around in the freshly mowed grass. My deep thoughts were suddenly interrupted by light but quick footsteps coming up the stairs.
Ava.
