[  Third Person POV  ]

The moon illuminated the cloudy sky as Donghyuck and Mark waited for the bus that goes to their place. The two lived near to each other, only that Mark doesn't usually go out of his house.

The atmosphere was quite tense, as both thought of the issues they're dealing with. Donghyuck thought of how he has to do better in his Chemistry class and why Mark was so confusing, while the other one had an internal battle with himself with regards to how his recent actions affected Donghyuck.

In other words, both of them felt confused and lost.

Mark didn't find the silence comforting. It irked him so much, seeing the usually talkative and playful boy being quiet. He didn't have to be with Donghyuck for a long time to not notice his personality. Donghyuck is the talkative type, one that blabbers too much, makes lots of jokes and has tons of witty remarks.

Mark has seen those the first time they hung out, so seeing a silent Donghyuck bugs him big time.

But Mark can't force Donghyuck to talk, can he? It'd be plain rude, thinking that maybe the boy feels down at the moment. What if he wanted silence? Mark thought.

Thank the heavens that the bus came not too soon after, saving both from the uncomforting bubble of awkwardness. Mark sat by the window and Donghyuck by the aisle.

The ride was yet a quiet one. Mark leaned his head onto the window, his eyes half-hooded and whole body exhausted than ever. Donghyuck isn't oblivious to not notice how tired the boy was, and so he had that concerned look in his eyes.

Donghyuck would admit that he's tired too, as a result of spending the past weeks thinking and thinking of reasons why Mark Lee suddenly avoided him, but seeing how weary the boy beside him is made him realize that maybe Mark had important reasons. The thing is that, he didn't know them.

It was then when Donghyuck noticed how prominent Mark's eyebags have become, as well as the islets of acnes in his skin. He indeed looked so stressed, that he fell asleep seconds after they hopped in the vehicle.

They reached their destination quickly, which results to Donghyuck hesitantly waking up Mark. Donghyuck thought of the time Mark carried him on his back, when Mark wasn't able to wake him up. Donghyuck's cheeks then flushed a rosy shade of red, his heart fluttering at the thought.

"We're here," Donghyuck said to Mark as soon as they got off the bus. The latter just nodded as they start walking away.

[  Mark's POV  ]

My senses woke up to Donghyuck's voice and my shoulders being shaken.

"We're here," Donghyuck said as soon as we got off the bus. We started to walk under the streetlight-lit pavement; only the sound of vehicles passing by filled up the empty atmosphere.

I was about to take a step towards my house when Donghyuck suddenly held my wrist the moment we passed by the convenience store.

"Wait. Let's grab something first," Donghyuck smiled faintly as he started to pull me with him towards the said store.

The wind chimes by the door chimed again the moment we stepped on the place, "Hello, Johnny-hyung!"
