"Please let me go. I don't want to!" I was fighting with my mom again, as I went over my hair with curlers.

"You have to go for dinner. It would be rude to cancel!"

"Then don't cancel, just go without me." I handed her the idea, playing smart.

"As your mother, you don't have a choice. Find something nice to put on after you do your hair. It looks good." She complimented me and walked out of my room.

I groaned loudly and finished up my hair. I already had makeup on from school, so only a little touch up would be needed.

I decided to go for just some jeans and a crop top, because I didn't know exactly where I was going. I didn't want to end up overdressing and embarrass myself.

( this is amore, @amore.w on insta and she's just a baddie how could I not make her the main character wow.)

I grabbed my necklace and clipped it on then jogged out of my room. Though I was wearing jeans, a good heel couldn't go overturned, so put them on downstairs.

"Mom I'm ready!" I shouted, clicking into the kitchen to see her.

She was wearing a nice outfit herself, a floral jumpsuit with heals and a black clutch. She looked me up and down and smiled.

"I wish I still looked that good in jeans." She made me laugh, always talking about how I looked so much like her when she was younger.

"Right get yourself in the car, we're just on time for once." I lead the way and I carefully made it to car, climbing in and readjusting my hair in the mirror.

"You look great, don't be self conscious." She swatted my hand away and I sulked.

However, I quickly moved to my face, checking for any problems. "Where are we even going?" I looked over at her as she set off.

"Lisa's. She wants to meet you after all this time now that we live closer. Just behave and be nice."

"Like your best friend Lisa Dolan? I've already met Cameron, she's sweet." I flicked on my phone and remembered that I had to tell Grace that I needed to cancel.

"Good! Then get to know her better. It's only a few hours."

me: I'm so sorry babe, I have to cancel. Mom's making me go to a dinner at her best friend's house. x

Grace: It's fine. Raincheck for this weekend? x

me: definitely x

Once I got that out of the way, we were practically here. She wasn't lying about the fact that we lived a lot closer to them. We had to move out of Dad's house, so she chose an area that a lot of her friends lived at.

"We aren't the only ones here, we have a small group but Kathryn and her daughter are here as well. Maybe you can get along with her! She goes to your school."

I nodded and grabbed my lip gloss out of my mom's clutch, swiping it on in the mirror. I smacked my lips together a few times then pouted, my lips nice and shiny.

"Ready?" I said. She nodded and stepped out with me, looking up at the luxurious house.

"Nice house. Bet they have great parties here."

"Oh you reminded me, you can have parties at the house as long as you clean up everything after and nothing is broken." I whooped, already thinking of inviting all my old friends for a party.

"Right. Nice posture, bright smile. Come." She ordered me and I walked with her to the front door.

She knocked on and I plastered a pretty smile on. The door was opened, and was welcomed by Lisa and what looked like her husband.

"Diana! Welcome. And you must be Kendra. You're just as beautiful as your mom explains you." I blushed, loving the compliment.

"Nice to meet you Mrs Dolan. And you Mr Dolan." I turned to her husband, smiling.

"Oh please, call us Lisa and Sean." I was good with adults, which my mom was grateful for. I came in and walked into the living room.

All eyes turned to me, so I felt like I should recoil, but my mom put her hand in the crook of my back, as if to tell me to be strong. I stood up straight and smiled, looking at all the faces.

A familiar face, Cameron, stood up and walked up to me. "You look amazing!" She spun me and I giggled, feeling like a close friend with her already.

"So do you!" I looked her up and down, wearing a pretty dress. I would never see her in something like this but she looked amazing.

"Thank you. Let me introduce you to everyone." She turned and I kept my eyes focused on someone who looked like her brother. He was speaking quietly to what looked like his.. twin? They looked extremely similar. His eyes flicked from me to him.

However, Cameron broke my train of thought as she started speaking again. "This is Kathryn and her daughter Faye, my best friend." They both said hello and I did back, smiling.

"And these are my brothers, who as you probably already guessed, are twins. The one on the left is Ethan, the right is Grayson. Don't feel bad if you get it wrong at the start." They both looked at me and said hey one at a time.

When Ethan spoke, his voice clicked with the incident in school today. He was definitely him.
I waved and let Cameron drag me next to her on the couch, sandwiched between her and Ethan.

"So you're a fresh sophomore huh?" Grayson spoke, smiling. I sat up and took the drink Lisa handed to me, thanking her.

"I guess. What are you guys, juniors?" I assumed that they weren't in my Grade, they looked around 17.

"We're sophomores. Turned 16 last month." Grayson answered.

I widened my eyes in shock, not prepared for that. I nodded though, sipping my water.

"Dinner is served! If you'd like to follow me." Sean said cheerfully, guiding us to the dinner table.

I got up and walked behind Cameron, who was chatting to Kathryn. The food looked great, an assortment of everything.

Tonight was going better than I expected.
