Presumptuously Angelic

“You’ve been sent to Earth as a Guardian Angel to help and protect a teenage girl.” Abijah, the head of the clouds, told Dustin. Abijah’s dark skin and eyes were intimidating and his height made him tower over Dustin.

“She hot?” Abijah gave him a glare.

“You will return to your human body that died on Earth.” Dustin’s eyes flashed with pain but it was quickly washed away.

Dustin chuckled darkly. “So, you’re saying I’m returning to my dead body?”

“Yes.” Abijah’s face was serious and composed as always.

“What am I supposed to do? What if I accidentally kill her?” His face was twisted with sarcasm.

“Dustin.” His face got hard.

“It was a joke, chill out, Abij.”

He ignored Dustin. His rude remarks were tiresome but at times but Abijah could ignore them. “As her guardian angel it is your responsibility to watch over the girl. You are on the last of my nerves so you will not mess his up. You also are sworn to an oath.” Dustin wanted to roll his eyes.

“What oath will I swear to?” His stance was bored, his eyes swimming with annoyance.

“You must protect her and keep her out of trouble. You can not put her in harms way, hurt her, or develop a romantic relationship with her.”

“Why do you want me to do that?” The last thing Dustin wanted to do was take care of someone he didn’t even know, especially in the body he died in. Earth would just be a trigger for him.

“Because all you’ve done is fool around and you need to take on some responsibility.”

“Responsibility? I’m dead, Abij. I’m pretty sure dead people aren’t meant to have responsibilities.”

Abijah let out a huff. “Either that or you get stripped.”

Dustin felt like he was just smacked in the face. “You’re trying to tell me that if I don’t do this, I’m…getting stripped of my wings?

What was up this bastard’s ass, he thought.

“That’s correct.”

He glared at Abijah. “This is bullshit.”

“To you. You start now.”

He suddenly felt a whirl of force against his chest before he felt himself falling until he started to black out.
