I do apologize for the late delay again. I've been busy with university as the end of the semester is coming up and a lot of final big assessments are being put on me. And also I got a bit carried away with this chapter so it's a long one. Enjoy!

I barely left my room today. It was a lot to process. I've got a monster living next door and he basically knows everything going on. I finally got an answer to how that snake got underneath my bed that day. Adrian left it there, so he could monitor my action to see if the hypnosis worked on me. But failed to get out in time before I spotted him. But just because that happened once doesn't mean he won't do it again. So, every hour, being paranoid, I always checked around my bedroom to see if Adrian placed one of his pet snakes in my room.

My stomach started growling loudly when it was coming up to dinner time. I did skip lunch because I wasn't hungry, so I didn't argue with my stomach. Heading downstairs, I quickly ensured that all the windows and doors were locked as usual when it comes to nighttime. I didn't bother looking for any snakes. If there hasn't been any in my bedroom, I doubt there would be any inside my house. I just went for an easy 2-min chicken flavoured noodles, I wasn't in the mood to make a proper meal.

With the bowl of noodles in my hand, I settled down in my usual comfortable sofa and turned on the news to distract my mind. I was about halfway through the program but immediately turned it off when a report came for that missing murderous woman. Seriously, they just had to bring something up that connected to him. Why? Why is God being so cruel to me?

Becoming bored so quickly, I did my usual before bed routine: locking up the house, having a quick shower and reading a book before lights out. It took me about half an hour before I manage to fall asleep. My peaceful sleep was then disturbed when something large and smooth was rubbing behind my neck and shoulders, slowly lifting me up and getting thicker as it moves in one direction. I moaned a bit in response to it. It was actually quite nice.

Wait a second...I know this texture. Immediately as if someone had blown an air horn, my body reacted to the danger and I bolt up fast to get away. But then my head bangs into something hard and I fell back down. My hands went to my head, holding on to the enormous pain as I groan, forbidding myself from yelling loudly. But it turned out that I wasn't the only one in pain when my groan was joined by another. Removing one hand from my head, it searched the darkness to find the lamp switch. When my eyes adjusted to the sudden brightness, my mind went bewildered.

"A-Adrian...?" I stuttered seeing him sitting on my bed and to make it worse, he was in his naga form. His tail, which I notice now, is black based with brown stripes like a tiger, has laid itself around my bed on the floor before coming back up onto the bed and cross where my head was before curving around and lying on top of my waist.

"Sorry about that." He said as he rubs his forehead, "Didn't expect you to bolt up like that."

"How...?" I was about to ask before Adrian interrupt by answering the obvious question.

"You left your bedroom window unlocked." He pointed to my window and my eyes zoomed in on the latch that was positioned up. Oh, you've got to be kidding me. I've locked every single door and window in the house and yet I forgot the one right next to me.

"Fuck my life." I stated, "Now, the real question is, why in hell are you in my bedroom?" For a moment, he looked at me annoyingly when I asked rudely. But the truth is that he is the one being rude by entering my home without permission.

Adrian sighs, closing his eyes before opening them, filled with concern. "I was worried about you. I noticed that you didn't leave your bedroom all day, so I thought I'd come over and check up on you."

"While I was sleeping?" I loudly whispered to avoid yelling and waking the neighbours.

"Well, you weren't going to let me in, so I had to find my own way in." he hissed, "Besides, I wasn't planning on waking you in the first place." I rolled my eyes. As if. I wanted to say but I didn't, instead, I laid my head on the bed away from his coils that lay against my pillows and pull the covers right over me.

I felt Adrian crawling over until he was slightly on top of me. "But seriously, are you alright?" he asked. I went silent for a while as I thought before answering.

"I don't know. It still hard to believe that my neighbour is..."

"A monster." Adrian completed my sentence, though I was wanting to use another word other than a monster to avoid provoking him. "I wouldn't blame you for using that word. It is true, I am a monster, but I am not a bad one."

I didn't really have anything to say to him for a moment. I couldn't argue to his words. Who knows how many people he has eaten in the past? But the woman he ate before, she was already a bad person.

"So, in other words, you're more like an anti-hero, more or less." I spoke back without lifting the covers.

"I guess, you can say that." He said. I slightly shiver as he hissed every time he spoke a word with an s. "Look, I don't want you to be afraid of me. I am not your enemy. I do apologize for my behaviour last night. I do get a little bit carried away sometimes."

Once again, I find myself not responding to him. Can I really forgive him? Not for keeping a secret from me but last night's behaviour. Unlike the first time, he hypnotized me, I remembered that night. His tease, his anger, the fact that he squeezed me a few times and almost choked me. But...he kissed me. I don't know if he did it just to weaken me or he meant it? Either way...I enjoyed it.

I started to feel the weight of the bed move as soon Adrian sighs above me. His tail that lay above my head was removed. When the last of his weight was off the bed, at the last moment, my mouth spoke a word.

"Wait." The sound of movement halted as if it was a command. I slowly sat up and removed the covers off my head, allowing myself to breathe the cool fresh air. I looked up as connected eyes to Adrian who was close to the window. I found myself unable to think clearly about what I wanted to say next. But my mind then finally found some words to say.

"Can you...stay here...for the night?" I asked hesitantly. Hiding the bewildered expression that I asked him that, but I felt like it was right. Adrian was surprised by my question that he actually blinked a few times. But then slowly shows a smile.

"Sure." He answered, moving away from the window, "I'll just find a spot on the floor." The floor? No way.

"Actually," I moved over to one side of the bed, before petting down in the empty space, "Can you sleep here?" I almost feel myself blushing at this point. Adrian didn't hesitate when I asked and comfortably got into the bed with me with his tail hanging out of the covers and around the bed. My eyes became fixated on them. My mind is battling with my fear whether or not we should be afraid of this tail circling around us.

"My tail should be fine, it's a warm night." Adrian said. It's not that I worried about. I'm still edgy on you being half snake. I wanted to say that, but I kept my mouth shut and lay back down. At least from there, I can't see it. I lay on my side with my back facing him before turning off the lights. There was a little voice in my mind telling me that asking him to sleep with me was a bad idea, but it was only little.

But then I remembered last night, I ended up laying on top of him for the rest of the night. An urge to sleep closer to him rises and my body slightly moves back towards him. And as if he read my mind, Adrian move right up to me and embraced his arms around me comfortably. I didn't say anything or moved. I just happily fell asleep.
