Supercorp: Not Meant To Be Seen

       

| Lena is at the DEO working and falls asleep. Kara - as Supergirl reads something she wasn't meant to. (a bit angsty) I might make another part to this. |

Lately, Lena had been spending a lot more of her time at the DEO. The DEO had started to depend on her, sometimes.

Whenever there was something Alex couldn't figure out, scientifically, they would have Lena come and help out with it.

Having said this, Lena didn't have a place work in, at least not one in the DEO. Once Alex noticed a pattern of Lena returning, she decided to designate an empty room to Lena so she could do her experiments.

This turned out to be good for Lena. Whenever she was doing an experiment and something she needed it was not with her at L-Corp, she was allowed to go into DEO and use the resources they had.

Nobody really minded Lena because she kept to herself. She never started conversations unless it was important and about work.

Because of her frequent visits to the DEO, Lena was beginning to make plenty of new friends.

There happened to be one friendship she already had before, that grew much stronger than before. It, of course, was with Alex.

Lena never really connected with Alex, before. To be quite honest, Alex wasn't very fond of Lena. Although somehow, Lena and Alex managed to create a friendship different than the one Lena had with Kara. Alex was more of a big sister to Lena, which sounded wild if told to someone who knew of their relationship prior.

Today, Lena had wound up in the DEO again. This time, for her own experiment.

Originally, she'd been doing something for Alex, but when she finished with it, she decided to work on something on her own.

Because Lena's room was slightly secluded, in a way that it wasn't in a busy area of the building, she didn't get very many visitors. She was never expecting to, but whatever she did have visitors she was glad to fill them in on whatever she happened to be doing.

She did end up having a visitor today, unfortunately, Lena was much too asleep to notice.

The raven haired girl, had her knees pulled up to her chest and was sleeping in her rolling desk chair.

Kara - or Supergirl - was surprised to find Lena asleep. "She must have been tired," Is what Kara told herself.

Kara took it upon herself to go and grab Lena a blanket and put her on the sofa. While she was doing so, a journal with one too many science looking words caught her eye.

When Kara was sure that Lena was comfortable, she made her way over to it. That was when Kara realized it was a science journal.

Kara reminded herself to remember the page number so she could go back to it. Then, Kara started flipping through the pages until she grew confused. She stopped at a certain page and confirmed that her own name was written on it. "Okay, so definitely not a science journal," Kara thought.

Kara's eyes widened when she realized the journal was both for experiments and personal reasons.

The blonde glanced back at her friend who was sleeping peacefully. Kara took a moment to listen to Lena's breathing, and heard a quiet sigh.

Kara couldn't help but smile to herself.

She forced herself to focus her attention on the journal, not really wanting to invade Lena's privacy, but also feeling like she needed to read whatever was about her.

"January 17, 2018

My birthday yesterday went quite well. I know I've told Kara my birthday at least two times in the past, but I got my hopes up and expected her to remember. It was definitely disappointing that she didn't say anything, but I don't know why I let myself expect her to. I've already gotten used to no one saying anything, but because we've become good friends, I let myself expect that she would. I shouldn't be expecting anything from anyone. I know better than that.

Kara found herself wiping away a tear before finishing the page.

She felt like she'd punched Lena in the heart. "I'm so sorry," she whispered.

The blonde quickly replaced the book where it was and to the correct page, looking back at Lena, and then making her way out as quickly as she could.
