Thank you, Mom (poem)

Dear mom,
Thank you,
For being there!

You were there when I was little,
When my bones were hollow and brittle,
To rock me through the night,
When my tears fell in fright.

You were there when I was weak,
When I felt down, and meek,
You helped to dry my tears,
All those times, all those years.

You were there when I was sick,
And even when we didn't quite click,
You were there when I needed you,
And for that I thank you.

Do you remember my first day of school?,
I cried that day,
And chances are you did too.

How about graduation?,
I was moving up, getting older,
And still you were there!

Remember all those school days,
That I ranted on about,
But you were there,
And cleared my every doubt.

Then came middle school,
Boy, was I a fool!!
But still you stood with me,
And supported me, even when I didn't deserve it!

High school rolled around,
And with this I found,
That we butted heads more often,
But my love for you never hardened.

Then came college,
Boy what a mess,
You cried when I left,
And although you'll never know,
I did too!

Now we sit here,
And remember the times we hold so dear,
The good and the bad,
The evil, and the rad!

And I just wanted you to know,
That everything you done was never, unnoticed,
And I thank you for it all,
And I hope you had a ball!
