Chapter 12

“You will lead the men into the castle invasion and you will bring me the head of the Almighty Alpha!” Lucien heard his father’s voice echo in his head for the millionth time.

He growled and gritted his teeth. Lucien didn’t want war! He just wanted the vampires and werewolves to live in harmony. This war was idiotic and served no purpose.

But his father was King and he had to obey his orders. But as soon as he was King he would amend relations with the werewolves, as hard as it may be, and establish a treaty. Lucien wanted to put an end to this big pissing contest as soon as possible.

When they arrived at the castle, Lucien saw another way in where he was different from his father. His father ordered for them to just burst down the front door and start wreaking havoc. If Lucien wanted this war, which he didn’t, he would have ordered for them to sneak into the castle and attack from the inside out.

But alas, his father’s orders had to be followed. Lucien stood in the front of his thousands of followers and pulled out his silver sword. He took a deep breath and yelled, “Attack!”

Vampires ran around him and his outstretched arm leaping over the gate to the castle. Werewolves met them on the front lawn, and the war commenced. Lucien sighed and shook his head then ran into the fray.

“They’re everywhere Sir, there’s thousands of them!” said one of the panicked scouts to Liam.

Liam rubbed a hand over his face, “I knew the vampires were bold, but this is border-lining plain stupidity.”

“They know that Damien isn’t here,” Rob said.

“And that mean I cannot protect my home?” Liam yelled. Rob shrugged and said, “What are we going to do?”

“You will be joining me in kicking vampire ass and Paul; I want you to take all the women and children to safety through the tunnels.”

Paul nodded and dashed off. Liam looked to his mate, so fierce and so beautiful “That includes you, dear.”

“What?” Georgina looked disappointed, “But I can fight,” she said with a pout. And didn’t Liam know it. If you look close enough, there was still the scar from when she pawed him in the fact those many years ago.

Liam couldn’t help but smile at his eccentric mate, “I know you can love, but this is a war, not a simple battle.”

“You don’t make any sense Liam,” she replied. He came over to her and kissed her forehead, “I need you to go, Georgina. It would be a weight off my chest knowing that you were safe.”

Georgina sighed and rolled her eyes, “Okay, but if you die remember you’d be taking me with you and you’ll be hearing about it for the rest of our afterlives.”
