Chapter 14
She didn’t feel much like herself. All she wanted to do was curl into a ball and die. Why should she continue living? So she could be the sex puppet Luke always wanted?
Victoria stared at the extravagant ceiling in the vampires’ castle, searching for answers to her questions. She wanted to scoff; to think, here she was lying where the vampires slept.
The bedroom door opened and it was all Victoria could do from not crying. She had a small, albeit unlikely; hope that Luke would never come back. She was utterly broken, her wolf was nowhere to be found and she didn’t know what to do.
“Victoria, sweetie?” came a familiar voice from the door.
Victoria sat up, “Daddy?” she asked and she saw her father standing beside Damien’s betas. Victoria felt her heart coming alive again slightly as she sprung up and flung herself into her father’s arms.
“Daddy, I thought you were dead!” she said while she cried into his shoulder. “No, it was all part of Lucien’s plan.”
“Prince Lucien?” she asked and the former councilman nodded. Councilman Harris informed his daughter about Lucien’s plan to trick his father into thinking he’d killed all the werewolves at their castle.
“What did Luke do to you?” Paul asked.
Victoria tried to square her shoulders but her spirit was too badly broken to portray much confidence, “Luke made me his mate.”
All three men looked shocked. Paul turned to the Councilman, “I thought mates couldn’t be forced to bind themselves to one another.”
The concerned father nodded, “That’s true but only in the cases where the individuals are true soul mates. But like all things in the werewolf world, nothing comes without a price. Luke’s life is bound to Vicky’s just as hers is to his.”
The betas chewed this over while Victoria came up with a plan. “Where is Luke now?” she asked.
Her father sighed, “He has the Prince, now King, held hostage with a stake and a cross. He wanted you and told us where to find you.”
“You’re taking me to him?” Victoria asked, horrified. Her father gave her a warm look, “Yes, we’re taking you to him but we’re not going to let him leave with you; we’ll figure something out, okay?”
Victoria didn’t believe her father, though her father might have. They truly believed they could save her from Luke, but she knew that there was no such thing. A psycho like him would go to unspeakable measures to get what he wanted – and he wanted her.
As she walked down the hallways, beside her father, and the betas behind her – in case she were to run – Victoria picked something up from an end table and hid it on her person.
She was not going to be kept under the thumb of Luke for the rest of her life. And if she had to kill herself to get away from him, then so be it; because hell hath no fury like a woman’s scorn.

“Just give it up already, you’ve lost Luke!” Ali yelled at the maniac holding Lucien captive.
Luke scoffed; “You really think I’m just going to give in and have you kill me?” he asked Ali but directed it to Damien and Liam.
“I should have killed you as soon as you left the womb! But through the goodness of your mother’s heart, she wanted to keep you. If she could only see you now she would know what a mistake that was,” Liam sneered at Luke.
“All I ever wanted was to be treated fairly. It was not my fault how I was conceived! If you were going to keep me you could have at least showed me kindness!” Luke exclaimed, finally getting all of what he wanted to say all his life off his chest.
