Ebony lead the group into the wood shop room, and we all started grabbing useful objects the moment we realized no one else was in there. Rushing around choosing carefully was the key, we didn't need useless weight on our backs. After grabbing supplies we heading into Mrs Hammock's office to warn her and possibly find a way to get away from school as fast as possible. No luck she wasn't there only blood stains and her purse. "Check her purse, we need a car and she had a car." I said nonchalantly. Rod dumped out her purse and we found extra loot! A first aid kit, some money (like it would even be useful, but just in case), and her truck keys. "Alright team let's get the hell out of here." I whispered. We ran quickly to Mrs Hammocks six person truck. We got in faster than you can say quick, locking the doors, and putting the keys in the ignition. I'd been taking driving lessons for about six months now so I think i've got the jist of driving. Backing out of the small parking space and slowly driving to the front of the school was the absolute worst. Looking out of the window you could see the early morning light shining onto the wreckage of the once normal looking highschool. Blood was splattered onto the sidewalks and parking lot, once normal teenagers now walking decaying monsters, and the building's windows were in awful condition most of them shattered or broken from intruding zombies or people trying to escape. "It's going to be okay guys." I muttered not even sure myself if we'd be okay, I slowly reached over and turned on the radio. The news channel was on. "Panic and destruction has happened in the last couple of hours, only what we can name as zombies has struck across the USofA, be warned if you go outside you most likely will be-" Static and the fuzzy sound of screams is all we heard. Scott quickly reached over and turned the radio to another station. The soft sound of Jump Around came on, it was a little outdated maybe a decade old but still a popular song. No one talked for the first thirty or so minutes. No one had anything to say. Ebony looked longingly on the window and Candy weeped into Rod's shoulder muttering in Japanese, which from what's she's taught us in the language was probably profanities. Scott was fidgeting his hands crying softly, and Rod looked down mourning as he held Candy, hugging her like if he let go she to would die. I stopped at a gas station for pee breaks, more gas, and so we could grab any food left in the store. Candy and Ebony went to the bathroom to clean up and do whatever girls do in the bathroom. Rod and Scott grabbed snacks, and I was in charge of filling the gas tank. I decided to go grab a couple gas cans while I was at it just in case. Ebony and Candy came out of the store holding a couple blankets, flashlights, batteries, and a big case of water. Wow I guess we're really going to be prepared. Five minutes or so later Scott and Rod made their way out of the store with three backpacks worth of food. "Can we stay here for a minute, we could make some lunch and chill out, load up on firewood?" Ebony asked hopefully. "Sure but only an hour, no more no less." I replied. Candy nodded as her and Scott made their way to try and find a kitchen area in the back of the gas station. I sat on the tailgate of the truck humming and picking at a stick I found on the floor. Ebony and Rod were messing around making room for everything in the truck. My head snapped up though when I heard Candy shierk and her and Scott bound around the corner. "NEIL WE HAVE TO LEAVE NOW THE ZOMBIES!" I jumped off the tailgate closing it quickly, "EVERYONE IN THE TRUCK NOW GO GO GO!" I screamed at the top of my lungs. Ebony and Rod hopped in along with Candy and Scott. I quickly jammed the keys in the ignition and started the truck. It wasn't too long till we heard growling and grumbling. I didn't even need to look back before slamming my foot on the accelerator. The truck swerved slightly nearly hitting the Gas Station's pricing sign, Scott squealed in fear causing everyone to cling to each other. "EVERYONE OKAY?" I shouted. "YEA WE'RE NOT WHAT YOU SHOULD BE WORRIED ABOUT." Rod yelled back, he was right I need to focus on getting us out of here. I sighed hitting the gas hard going way faster than any teenager should be going on the road.
