[5] Dreams

The sky was a lot bluer than it normally is today, and the clouds looked a lot fluffier, too. I was in a beautiful field surrounded by soft grass, and even a few flowers. The air smelled sweet and soft.

Suddenly, in a small part of the field, a black hole started to grow bigger, and bigger, until it took up almost a full side of the field. I tried to run the opposite direction, but a big, dark forest stood in my path. I heard a voice from behind me.

"Stay away from the dark forest, I don't trust it." I looked behind me and saw that it was Trevor, inside the black hole, talking to me. I heard a different voice.

"Come on, Eliza," the voice said sweetly. "Come into the forest. It's really beautiful and that black hole looks dangerous."

I looked back towards the forest, and saw Xavier standing there, with his arm outstretched, as if waiting for me to take it.

"No, Eliza, never go into the forest. You don't know what's in there," Trevor said, glaring at Xavier.

"Eliza, who's the one who saved you countless times? You can trust me. You can always trust me. Come with me, please," said Xavier.

"Why do I have to choose?" I said. I am so confused. One minute I'm in a beautiful field, the next I have to choose between a dark black hole, which I could never escape, or a dark forest, where there are things that are unknown to me.

The boys looked at each other for a moment. "Well," they both said, "It is your dream".

Dream?

Before I could think about what they said, I woke up, panting and sweating. It was a terrible dream, but why would I even have a dream like that?

And why would Trevor be in it? We barley talk at all, so why would I dream about him? Also, I have to choose between Xavier, and the unknown, or Trevor, and the never answered questions.

What does it mean?

'It probably means you had to much Dr. Pepper before bed,' I thought to myself. Ugh. Never again.

Now, Xavier. Why did he want me to go in the forest? The forest did kind of represent him, I didn't know what he was like I didn't know what was in the forest. So I guess Trevor represented the black hole, If I went in, I could never come back out and find the answers to Xavier's questions.

Trevor wanted me in the black hole, which means that he didn't want me to find out what Xavier was. But Xavier wanted me to go into the forest, which means he wanted me to figure out what he was.

So who do I choose?

What could be so bad about Xavier? He can't be a vampire, they're always pale. I don't think he's a werwolf because this isn't Twilight.

So what is he? A fairy? Somehow I couldn't imagine him in a pink tutu, twirling around and waving a magic wand in my face.

Buzzzz buzzzz I suddenly heard my phone go off, alerting me that someone was texting me. I walked over to my bed and saw that the message was from Christian, my best guy friend. I opened the message an started reading it.

Christian- Hey, my mom said that if you want to go on our camping trip with us, it was fine with her. Want to?

Eliza- Yea, sure. Sounds like fun (:

Christian- Cool, I'll tell her. (:

Christian and I have been friends since middle school, when we got paired up as partners for a social studies project. Him and Mel are also friends, so we all hangout together sometimes.

Tap Tap Tap

I looked at my window to find Trevor knocking. Who ever designed this house obviously didn't know a little thing call PERSONAL SPACE. Seriously, who builds a house where the neighbors can just climb through a window to get in?

I walked over to the window and opened it. "What do you want Trevor?"

"Hey, Eliza. I just came to see if you-"

"Wait a second! Did you just call me Eliza?! YOU CALLED ME ELIZA!!" I freaked out. He always calls me green eyes, which is just annoying.

"Fine I guess I'll just go back to green eyes, then."

"NO. Just, what did you want?"

"Well...Uh. I, um, just came to see if you could, uh, tutor me?"

Did I just hear that right?

Trevor wants me to tutor him? Why me? Doesn't he have friends that could tutor him?

"Why me?" I asked.

"Well, my mom said I had to get a tutor for math, and I saw you had a pre-calc textbook on your desk. I just thought, 'if anyone was going to tutor me, it might as well be someone I don't know very well'."

To say I was shocked would be an understatement.

"Uhhh, I guess I could? When would you, um, want to?" I asked hesitantly.

I don't know if I want to be around him yet, until I figure out what that weird dream meant.

"How about tomorrow at 5?" he asked

"Uh, yea. Sounds good." I guess if he needed it then I should probably do it.

"Great. See you then," he said as he closed his window and walked away.

What just happened? Did I just become a tutor? Wow, I really needed to stop drinking Dr. Pepper.

Trevor really needs a tutor? I highly doubt that.

And why would he even consider asking me? He has friends...I think. Then again, it is his first day. Did he make any new friends?

Oh well, to late now. Besides, it's good that I'm helping him out anyway. Trevor needed a touter, so I'm just going to have to suck it up and deal with it.

I walked over to my laptop and hit the power button. Every day I always go on my laptop to write. Not about my life, but about imaginary peoples' lives.

My current story was about a girl named Danni, and when she moved across the country to a new school, she pretended to be a boy. The whole book is about her dealing with crushes, parents, and teachers finding out that shes actually a girl.

If only life was that simple.
